EZ Gig II Upgrade & Backup software is a powerful, yet easy
to use tool that creates an exact clone, or a compressed
image of a hard drive - perfect for backups or hard drive
upgrades. This second generation product is loaded with
powerful features such as Hi-Speed USB 2.0 support, adjustable
compression settings, comment elds, and password protection.
In addition to supporting data transfers via Hi-Speed USB 2.0, EZ Gig II
also supports USB 1.1, PC Card, and internal IDE or SATA interfaces.
EZ Gig II Upgrade & Backup software gives the user two options to upgrade
or backup their data: Disk Clone and Disk Image.
Disk Clone is the ideal utility for cloning a hard drive. A cloned hard drive
is useful when upgrading a hard drive, or for creating an exact bootable
“Disaster Recovery” clone for the ultimate in backup and recovery.
Backup: In the event of an internal hard drive failure, Disk Clone can upload
the most recent backup to another hard drive. In an emergency situation, the
backup hard drive can be installed into the system, replacing the failed hard
drive.
Upgrade: Disk Clone automatically copies everything – programs, documents,
address books, e-mail, OS and preferences - from the old hard drive to a new
hard drive in minutes. This state of the art data transfer Utility saves hours of system
rebuilding and makes upgrading a hard drive simple and pain free.
Disk Image is the perfect utility for backing up an entire hard drive, or an individual partition.
Through its advanced compression algorithm, Disk Image can compress data up to half of
its original size. This feature allows for backups to smaller hard drives, or multiple backups
to a single drive.
Disk Image provides a comments eld for each image, allowing users to maintain a detailed
description of each backup. To keep backups secure, Disk Image allows a password to be
assigned to each individual backup image. Disk Image allows restoration of individual les
or folders within an image.
Disk Image also supports transfers to optical media such as CD-R or CD-RW.
EZ Gig II ships on a CD and can be loaded and run under Windows operating systems. EZ
Gig II can also be used as a boot disk and boots directly to Disk Clone to create a clone or
restore a cloned hard drive.
