Thank you for your purchase of the Aprilaire
®
Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV). Your ERV is designed to remove indoor air pollution and provide
fresh air to the home. There is increasing evidence that the air in our homes is more polluted than once thought. Research indicates that people
spend approximately 90% of their time indoors, potentially breathing polluted, stale recirculated air. This poses a health risk, and while the levels of
pollutants from individual sources may not pose a significant risk to health by themselves, most homes have multiple sources of pollutants, which
can have an accumulative affect. Your ERV will work to provide a supply of fresh air to your home and remove indoor air pollution.
ENERGY RECOVERY VENTILATION
The Aprilaire Energy Recovery Ventilator with the EnergyMax transfer core uses the indoor conditioned air to pre-heat or pre-cool the incoming
fresh air, depending on the season. During the winter season, the cross-flow design of the EnergyMax transfer core allows the incoming fresh
air to be pre-heated by the warm, stale air being exhausted, reducing the energy required by the heating system to warm the incoming fresh air.
This same process removes heat and moisture from the incoming air during the summer. The ERV provides a year-round comfortable and healthy
environment for your entire home with minimal maintenance requirements and trouble-free, quiet operation.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
The Energy Recovery Ventilator has an on/off switch which enables continuous operation. When the on/off switch on the ERV is turned to on,
your home will receive a constant supply of fresh air.
The ERV operation can also be controlled with the Aprilaire Home Comfort Control
or the 8120 Ventilation Control, allowing ventilation to occur
on a schedule. Consult your installing contractor for more information about the Aprilaire Home Comfort Control
.
