C4-A Maintenance & Repair Manual Test
1. Vacuum motor is running with little or no sealed vacuum to floor nozzle:
a. replace the vacuum motor terminals
b. replace the vacuum motor
c. check if front and rear nozzle clips are damaged or missing
2. Power is intermittent to all or some of the motors:
a. replace some or all motors
b. replace burned or corroded terminals
c. look for loose terminals or wire nut
d. both b and c
3. Vacuum motor is making excessive noise:
a. replace vacuum motor because of worn bearings and or fan blades
b. clean the lid vacuum filter screen
c. replace the lid and duct gaskets
4. Brush motor runs continuously:
a. replace the brush motor
b. reset the brush circuit breaker
c. replace the trigger switch
5. Electrical short:
a. replace any wires or connectors that are damaged or have worn insulati
b. reconnect or replace any loose wire connections
c. replace rocker and trigger switches
d. both a and b
6. When the trigger switch is activated the pump works, but the brush does not,
and the brush will turn freely by hand:
a. reset the brush circuit breaker
b. check if the belt is broken
c. replace the trigger switch
d. all of the above
7. Brush will not turn when the trigger switch is activated and will not turn be hand:
a. replace the belt
b. clean debris from bearing assembly and or replace bearings
c. replace the trigger switch
8. Pump is running quietly or weak, with no or very little pressure to spray tips:
a. replace the pump
b. replace the diode
c. replace the trigger switch
d. both a and c
9. When electrical components need replacing:
a. use available parts from the home depot
b. use parts ordered from Kent Investment Corp. for model C4 carpet cleaner
c. use any available UL or CSA listed parts
10. Pump runs continuously and the hand tool switch is in the OFF position:
a. replace the hand tool switch
b. replace the trigger switch
c. replace the pump
