Trigger input
Allows the P429 to be remotely turned
on and put into standby by an external
source, such as another Arcam audio/
video receiver or audio processor. See
“Trigger IN/OUT” on page E-8
Speaker terminals
The P429 is equipped with four pairs of
speaker terminals. See “loudspeakers” on
page E-10.
Pre-amplier output
OUT1-OUT4 provide a copy of the signal
applied to the IN1-IN4 sockets. Please note
that this is a passive output, no additional
ltering or amplication is applied
Trigger output
Allows the P429 to control the power state of
any connected equipment, such as a P49/P349
power amplier or another P429. In normal use,
there is no need to make any connections to
this output. See “Trigger IN/OUT” on page E-8.
Level trim
Adjust the output of each channel.
See “Level trim” on page E-9
Amplier mode
These switches allow the P429 to
be congured in dierent modes,
depending on the system into which
it will be installed and the speaker
connection topology that is used. See
page E-9 for details on the switch
positions and pages E-10 - E-12 for
various speaker topologies.
Network
Connect this socket to a port on your network
router using an Ethernet patch cable. See
“Network connection” on page E-8
RS232
This connection allows for remote
control from a third-party home
automation system or computer. See
“RS232 connection” on page E-8
USB
This USB socket is used for
software upgrades only.

Level Trim and Amplier Mode switches

level trim controls and amplier mode
switches. Please refer to “Level trim” and
“Mode switches” on page E-9 for details.
