MAINTENANCE
WARNING:
When servicing, use only identical replacement parts.
Use of any other parts can create a hazard or cause
product damage.
WARNING:
To avoid serious personal injury, always disconnect the
unit from the power supply when cleaning or performing
any maintenance.
GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most
plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of
commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use
clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
WARNING:
Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-
based products, penetrating oils, etc., come in contact
with plastic parts. Chemicals can damage, weaken or
destroy plastic which can result in serious personal injury.
CLEANING THE WATER RESERVOIR
See Figure 11
WARNING:
Always clean and thoroughly dry the water reservoir when
not in use to prevent the possible formation of bacteria
or mold.
Disconnect the evaporative cooler from the power supply.
Using the handle, carefully pull the water reservoir away
from the unit.
Clean the interior and exterior of the water reservoir with
warm soapy water.
Dry the water reservoir and place it back inside the
evaporative cooler.
CLEANING THE MEDIA
See Figure 12
NOTICE:
Do not run the evaporative cooler without a media in
place. Doing so could damage the motor and reduce
performance.
With the pump off, run the evaporative cooler fan for 15
to 30 minutes to dry the media.
Once the media is dry, turn the evaporative cooler off and
disconnect it from the power supply.
Press down on latches to unlock the media door.
Lower the media door and remove the media.
Use a clean dry cloth to remove dirt and debris from the
media.
NOTE: Clean the media once a month. Replace if
damaged.
Reinstall the media.
NOTE: Make sure the media is seated properly inside the
media door. Installing the media incorrectly will allow dirt
to enter the motor, causing rapid motor wear.
To secure the media door, insert the latch into the notch.
Close the media door and push the latch until it snaps
into place.
