RESET
The GFCI plug can be tested with the TEST and RESET buttons.
To test:
Press the TEST button. You will hear a “click” sound and the red LED light will go out.
To restore power, press the RESET button. The LED light will illuminate to indicate power
has been restored.
Perform this test monthly to ensure proper operation of the GFCI.
To reduce the risk of electric shock the supervisory circuit must be operated before an
appliance is plugged into any receptacle on the device.
WARNING:
READ AND UNDERSTAND ALL INSTRUCTIONS. Failure to follow all instructions listed
below, may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious personal injury.
WARNING:
This pump has been designed for use with water only. Do not use it to pump pesticides,
liquid fertilizers, or any other chemicals. Pumping these substances could result in serious
injury to the operator or bystanders.
This pump is non-submersible.
This pump is supplied with a grounding conductor and grounding-type attachment
plug. To reduce the risk of electric shock, be certain that it is connected only to a properly
grounded, grounding-type receptacle.
Do not operate pump if you are under the influence of any drugs, alcohol, or
medication that could affect your ability to use the unit properly.
To reduce the risk of electrocution, keep all connections dry and off the ground.
Do not touch plug with wet hands.
This product is provided with a ground fault circuit interrupter built into the power
cord plug. If replacement of the plug or cord is needed, use only identical replacement
parts.
Always remove the power cord plug from the electric outlet when making
adjustments, changing parts, cleaning, or working on the unit.
Use proper extension cord. Use an extension cord that is designed for outside use.
This is indicated by the letters “W-A” or “W” on the cord’s jacket.
GROUND FAULT CIRCUIT INTERRUPTER
See Figure 1.
This unit is equipped with a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI), which guards against
the hazards of ground fault currents. An example of ground fault current is the current that
would flow through a person who is using an appliance with faulty insulation and, at the same
time, is in contact with an electrical ground such as a plumbing fixture, wet floor, or earth.
GFCI plugs do not protect against short circuits, overloads, or shocks.
NOTE: To ensure readiness for use, press the reset button each time you connect the pump
to the power supply.
3/8 in. BOOSTER PUMP
MBP160
INSTALLING AND USING THE BOOSTER PUMP
See Figures 2 - 7.
Complete all flushing and testing steps for your misting kit as described in your kit’s operat-
ing manual before connecting the booster pump to the system.
Remove c-clips from the connectors on the pump.
Remove the plugs from the connectors on the pump.
NOTE: To remove the plugs from the slip lock connectors, press the inner ring on the
connector with one hand while pulling out the plug with the other.
 Determine the correct mounting location for the pump. Consider the location of your
misting kit as well as water and power supplies. Pump can be wall-mounted using screws
(not supplied) positioned with a center distance of 3 in.
WARNING:
Only mount pump in an area where no electrical wires, utility cables, pipes, or other
obstructions are located. Contact your local utility company or a qualified electrician if you
are unsure. Make sure pump is securely installed to prevent falling object hazard. Failure
to follow these instructions can result in electrical shock or other serious personal injury.
Verify the o-ring is positioned inside the garden hose adaptor, then connect your garden
hose to the adaptor.
NOTE: If desired, you may install a water filter between the garden hose adaptor and
the garden hose.
Place the other end of the adaptor tube into the input connector on the pump.
Place the end of your misting tube into the output connector on the pump.
Connect the pump to the power supply.
WARNING:
Ensure the electrical cord (or extension cord) loops below the electrical outlet to form a
“drip loop.” This will prevent water from running down the cord into the electrical outlet,
which can result in electric shock.
Fully turn on the water supply to your garden hose, then turn the power switch on to start
the pump.
WARNING:
Make sure the booster pump, attached garden hose, and misting kit tubes do not leak
water. Leaks can result in a slippery surface and create a slip and fall hazard.
When finished using the pump, turn the power switch off, then turn off and disconnect
the water supply from your garden hose.
To register your ARCTIC COVE product, please visit www.arcticcove.com.
This booster pump increases the line pressure of your Arctic Cove misting system, which
will allow for a finer mist and better cooling. Use with a standard water supply through a
garden hose that has a pressure not greater than 40 PSI.
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of injury, user must read and understand the operator’s manual for their
misting kit before using this accessory. To reduce the risk of injury or property damage,
ensure proper connection of all accessories before use. Ensure compatibility and proper
fit before using this accessory. Turn off the flow of water to the misting kit before changing
or adjusting accessories. Do not use if a part is broken or appears to be damaged. For
cold water use only. Save these instructions. Refer to them frequently and use them to
instruct other users. If you loan someone this pump, loan them these instructions also.
NOTICE:
This booster pump is intended for use only with Arctic Cove and Orbit brand
3/8 in. diameter misting kits. Use with any other misting kits may damage those
systems and possibly result in property damage.

MAINTENANCE
GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics are susceptible to damage
from various types of commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use clean
cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
The pump is fitted with thermal overload protection and will automatically shut off to prevent
damage to the unit from overheating. The unit will resume operation when cool (usually after
one hour).
