BS-510 Manual
Please act as follows if the BS-510 operates as a stand alone unit:
First always connect the USB receiver to the PC, so the
internal clock will be synchronized with the PC clock.
At receipt of sensor data, the green LED blinks.
Then connect the power supply voltage (5 to 7.5 Volt). Take care that the polarity (+ and -) is well
regarded.
Further, the USB cable is disconnected (*).
If the sensor data is stored in the BS-510 memory,
the yellow LED starts blinking.
You can turn o the PC now.
If you have problems re-reading the sensor data, we suggest to turn on the PC and Templogger So-
ware rst! Then connect the USB cable again (*), so the sensor data of the BS-500 can be transmied
to the PC again.
(*) As dierent PC types have a lof of dierently working USB ports problems can arise. Then we
recommend to disconnect the USB cable between the BS-510 and the PC.
The BS-510 receives the command to automacally start downloading if it receives the 5 Volt USB
voltage from the PC. Some PC’s turn the USB spanning a few mes on and o during their start. This
can cause data loss of the informaon stored in the BS-510. This can be solved when you connect
the USB cable only when the PC has started completely.
Important for PCs which are turned on with a BS-510 connected:
It can occur that the PC turns o the USB voltage if it goes into sleep modus (this can be changed/
adjusted under Windows)! If no external voltage is connected, the BS-510 will not work anymore!
If the PC awakes from its sleep modus, the USB voltage can be turned on and o shortly several
mes, so the BS-510 data can be lost.
Above problems only occur with some PC models!
IMPORTANT!
During the data transmission, of the sensor data, the BS-510 system cannot read or receive current
sensor data. Please take into account, some incoming sensor data can get lost that during the data
transmission.
Please check the internal BS-510 clock baery (Type CR2032)
The lifeme of the BS-510 baery is about 5 years!
