On a PRI access:
In the case of a PRI access in end-to-end mode (see
page 59 and page 64), a BERT can be run
- in the D-channel
- in a B-channel (channel selection: B-channel (64k))
- in two B-channels (channel selection: B-channel
(128k))
- MegaBERT framed
(optional: in all B-channels and in the D-channel)
- MegaBERT unframed
(optional: all B-channels, the D-channel and time
slot 0)
The channel select mask will open.
In the channel select mask, use the vertical cursor
keys to select the first B-channel (or first press
<DEL> and then enter the number of the first B-
channel on the keypad).
Then press .
Afterwards, enter the second B-channel.
Start BERT
The ARGUS will display
- the bit pattern, B-channel used and the bitrate
- Synchronicity of the bit pattern (synchron)
- Sync.time in h:min:sec (the period of time that the
ARGUS has been synchronised)
- LOS counter
- the bit errors that have occurred
Once it is over, the ARGUS will display the results of
the BERT (page 60). For information on saving the
test results, see page 62.
Loopbox on a permanent circuit (leased line)
< ERROR > to insert artificial bit errors to test the
reliability of the BERT.
< RESET > The test time and bit error counter
will be reset.
< TM > Start Test Manager (see page 96).
