ACCIDENTAL ENGINE START UP can cause

death or serious injury. ALWAYS stop engine,

remove key, wait for moving parts to stop, and

remove wire from spark plug before adjusting or

servicing.

SHARP EDGES CAN CUT BODY PARTS.

ALWAYS wrap blades, wear protective gloves,

and use extreme caution when handling blades.

INSTALLATION WARNING: ALWAYS block wheels and know all jack stands are strong and secure and will hold weight of unit during maintenance. 4. Lower the deck to its lowest level. Raise front end of unit to expose underside. Refer to instructions in the unit’s owner/operator manual. 5. Remove eight tapping screws from mower deck. Save all hardware. (Figure 4) NOTE: Remove nine tapping screws for 60", 66" and 72" decks.

5. Install the mulching blades with spindle hardware removed in step 6. Torque the blade bolt to 115-120 lb-ft (156-163 N•m). 6. Install left mulch baffle (Item 3), right mulch baffle (Item 4), and discharge mulch baffle (Item 2) on the mower deck with eight .31-18 nyloc flange nuts (item 5) as shown in Figure 6. 48-inch Decks: Install the right baffle with one .31-18 x 1.00 hex bolt (item 6) and one .31-18 x 1.50 hex bolt (item 7), install the left baffle with one .31-18 x 1.

52- and 66-inch decks: Install the right baffle with one .31-18 x 1.00 hex bolt (item 6), install the left baffle with one .31-18 x 1.00 hex bolt (item 6) refer to Figure 7. 52-Inch and 66-Inch Decks FOR BEST PERFORMANCE Cut grass when it is dry. Keep mower blades sharp. Keep mower deck properly leveled. 6 Adjust anti-scalp rollers to prevent scalping. 4 Do not set height of cut too low. For very tall grass, mow twice. 3 6 Do not travel too fast. Mow with the engine set at full throttle.
