Install Deck
1. Position deck under unit.
See Figure 50.
2. Align holes in deck lift lever with slot in
deck link.
3. Position one 1/2" x 3/4" x 3/64" (shorter)
sleeve bushing between deck link and
interior bracket of deck lift lever.
4. Insert 3/8" x 1/2" x 1" (longer) sleeve
bushing through slot in deck link and
shorter sleeve bushing.
5. Insert hex bolt through washer, deck lift
lever, deck link and sleeve bushings.
Secure with flange nut.
6. Repeat steps 2 – 5 for the three
remaining deck lift levers.
7. Reinstall drag link through mower deck
bracket and secure with hairpin removed
earlier. See Figure 48.
8. Repeat step 7 on other side.
9. Secure drive belt around drive pulley.
10. Connect idler spring.
11. Reinstall belt covers and secure with
original hardware.
ADJUST MOWER DECK
Level Mower Deck
IMPORTANT: Make sure unit is on a flat,
level surface and that tires are inflated to the
recommended pressures. See Specifications
on page 37.
1. Set deck to highest cutting height.
2. Position mower blades so blade ends
point left to right across the width of the
deck.
3. On both sides of the unit, measure the
distance to the ground at the cutting edge
of the blade. See Figure 51.
If the measurements are ± 0.635 cm
(1/4") of one another, no adjustment is
needed.
If adjustments are needed, adjust the
nylon locking flange nut on the deck
link. Tighten the nut to raise the deck;
loosen the nut to lower the deck. See
Figure 52.
IMPORTANT: It may be necessary to adjust
the nut on more than one of the deck links.
