Poor cutting
quality.
Mower blades not level or mower
deck pitch is incorrect.
Level and adjust pitch of mower deck.
See Level and Pitch Mower Deck on
page 35.
Mower blades are dull or faulty. Sharpen or replace mower blades. See
Sharpen Blades on page 22.
Mowing speed is too fast. Drive slower when cutting grass.
Belt tension or condition is poor. Replace mower belts. See Check Mower
Belts on page 24.
Cutting height is too low. Do not set height of cut too low. For very
tall grass, mow twice.
Blades do not
stop within 5
seconds.
Clutch brake plates worn. Reverse clutch brake plates. See Reverse
Clutch Brake Plates on page 32. If clutch
brake plates have already been reversed,
replace clutch.
