2. Open pre-slit Armaflex and
snap onto pipe (the release
paper is still protecting the
self-adhesive strip).
3. Adjust fitted Armaflex
to ensure slit is easily
accessible.
4. Locate the end of white
release paper for the self-
seal strip.
5. Remove the white
release paper strip
in 8" increments, by
drawing it away from the
insulation.
6. Close the slit seam and
press together firmly
to ensure a permanent
seal.
7. Remove the release
liner on the outer lap,
and apply even pressure
to completely close the
lap onto the Armaflex
surface.
8. For soldered or welded
pipes, insulate the fittings
first followed by the
straight sections.
Note: Tight bends in
pipes should be insulated
with Armaflex rubber
pre-fabricated fittings (Tee’s
and Elbows), rather than
sliding the tube around
elbows.
9. Seal all joints with
Armacell 520 adhesive.
Do not stretch when
sealing joints. When gluing
joints under compression,
with no gaps present, the
wet seal method should
be applied.
