22 Changing the backstrap / replacing the batteries in the iP1 pistol
Make sure that the iP1 pistol is unloaded (magazine removed and chamber empty) before
changing the backstrap or replacing the batteries.
• The batteries included with the iP1 pistol are not rechargeable. Never try to recharge
non-rechargeable batteries. They may explode or catch fire.
• Never try to disassemble batteries. Battery fluids can cause serious injuries.
• Never expose batteries to high temperatures because they may explode.
• Never use mixed batteries in the iP1 pistol. The brand and charge status must be identi-
cal.
The iP1 pistol comes with interchangeable backstraps to vary the circumference of the frame. The
iP1 pistol comes with the small backstrap installed, but it can be replaced with the medium or large
backstraps by completing the following steps:
1. Use the 1/10” punch to push the pin at the bottom of the frame, near the magazine well,
fully out.
2. Pull the backstrap down a few millimeters, then to the back and away from the iP1 pistol.
3. If changing the batteries, remove the two AAA batteries and replace them with new ones.
Note: When viewed from the rear (muzzle pointed away from you) the battery on the left will
be installed with the positive side facing down and the battery on the right will be installed
with the positive side facing up).
4. Place the desired backstrap against the rear of the frame and push it up towards the slide.
