BEFORE FIRST USE TROUBLESHOOTING Because rice varieties may vary in their make-up, results may differ. Below are some troubleshooting tips to help you achieve the desired consistency. 1. Read all instructions and important safeguards. 2. Remove all packaging materials and check that all items have been received in good condition. 3. Tear up all plastic bags as they can pose a risk to children. 4. Wash steam vent and all other accessories in warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly. 5.
TO CLEAN 1 2 TO COOK RICE 3 4 1 Remove the steam vent. 5 Thoroughly dry rice cooker body and all accessories. 24 Remove the condensation collector. Handwash the inner cooking pot and all accessories or wash them in the dishwasher. Using the provided measuring cup, add rice to the inner cooking pot. NOTE 3 4 Wipe rice cooker body clean with a damp cloth. 6 Reassemble for next use.

NOTE 6 Plug the power cord into an available wall outlet. • Brown rice requires a much longer cooking cycle than other rice varieties due to the extra bran layers on the grains. The “Brown Rice” function on this rice cooker allows extra time and adjusted heat settings in order to cook the rice properly.

TO USE QUICK RICE The rice produced by “Quick Rice” will not be to the same quality as rice made using the “White Rice” or “Brown Rice” settings, but it’s an excellent option for cooked rice in a pinch. 14 15 Using caution, open the lid to check food for doneness. If food is nished steaming, remove steam tray. 18 19 16 17 Allow the rice cooker to continue cooking rice.
TO STEAM FOOD & SIMULTANEOUSLY COOK RICE TO USE THE DELAY TIMER Follow steps 1 to 7 of “To Cook Rice” beginning on page 5. 8 9 Press the DELAY TIMER button. Each press increases in one hour increments. It may be set to have rice ready in 1 to 15 hours. Once the needed time is selected, press the WHITE RICE or BROWN RICE button, depending on the rice being cooked. 10 NOTE 10 11 The digital display will countdown from the time selected.
TO STEAM (CONT.) 13 Once the selected time has passed, the rice cooker will beep and switch to “Keep-Warm” mode. 14 Check steamed food for doneness. If nished steaming, remove food immediately to avoid overcooking. TO USE THE DELAY TIMER (CONT.) 15 When nished steaming, turn the rice cooker off by pressing the POWER button twice and unplug the power cord. 12 13 14 15 The rice cooker will countdown the nal minutes of cook time (12 minutes for white rice and 25 minutes for brown rice).

Add ingredients to be sautéed/ browned to the inner cooking pot. 6 Press the POWER button to turn on the rice cooker. 9 Plug the cord into an available outlet. 10 Press the POWER button to turn on the rice cooker. 11 Press the SMART STEAM button.

Place food to be steamed onto the steam tray. • If too little water is added, the rice cooker will stop prematurely. NOTE 16 HELPFUL HINTS 7 8 4 Press the SAUTÉ-THEN-SIMMER™ button to begin sautéing. Using the provided measuring cup, add 3 cups water to the inner cooking pot. 6 Place the steam tray into the rice cooker.
