IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS When using electrical appliances basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following: 1. Read all instructions carefully before using the appliance. 2. BEFORE FIRST USE Before using for the first time, it is recommended to clean the interior of the kettle thoroughly. Please follow the procedures below before using the kettle: 4 1. Remove all packing materials and make sure that the product has been received in good condition. 2. Taking care to keep the electrical components on the exterior of the kettle dry, wipe out the interior of the kettle with a damp cloth.
TO BOIL WATER 1 2 3 4 MAX MAX 6 6 5 5 MAX 6 5 4 4 4 2 2 Cups Place power base on a sturdy, level and dry surface. CAUTION Make sure the removable filter is firmly attached inside the electric kettle. See the “INSERTING THE REMOVABLE FILTER” on page 8 for details on how to attach it. • The plastic body of the kettle will become hot during use and remain hot for sometime after. Always use the handle when moving the kettle until it has cooled completely.

Press down on the POWER SWITCH. The POWER SWITCH will illuminate and the kettle will begin heating the water. Once the water reaches a boil, the POWER SWITCH will flip up and the kettle will automatically shut off.

NOTE Remove the filter for cleaning. See “INSERTING THE REMOVABLE FILTER” on page 8 for re-attaching the filter.
INSERTING THE REMOVABLE FILTER 1 2 Open the kettle lid and place the filter inside such that the bottom and sides of the filter are resting on the three inside ridges. Press the filter firmly downwards until it clicks into place. The filter should now be securely inserted to the kettle. • The kettle will not work properly if the filter is not inserted or inserted incorrectly.
REMOVING MINERAL DEPOSITS Hard water can leave mineral deposits that create scale build-up on the interior of the kettle. If mineral deposits occur, follow these steps: 1 2 3 4 MAX MAX 6 MAX 6 6 MAX 5 6 5 5 5 4 4 4 4 2 MIN 2 2 MIN MIN 2 MIN Fill the kettle halfway with water. 5 Following the instructions in “TO BOIL WATER” on page 5, bring the water to a boil. Add one cup of white vinegar to the water in the kettle. Allow the mixture to soak overnight.
TROUBLESHOOTING 10 The kettle and indicator light do not work when the power switch is down. • Make sure the kettle is seated properly on the power dock and that the power cord is connected to a functioning electrical outlet. • Water or debris on the bottom of the kettle or on the power base may interfere with the functioning of the kettle. Be sure that the bottom of the kettle and the power base are dry and free of debris.
LIMITED WARRANTY Aroma Housewares Company warrants this product free from defects in material and workmanship for one year from provable date of purchase in the United States. Within this warranty period, Aroma Housewares Company will repair or replace, at its option, defective parts at no charge, provided the product is returned, freight prepaid with proof of purchase and U.S. $12.00 for shipping and handling charges payable to Aroma Housewares Company.
