8.1.2.2. Mixer formulas
The formulas used to calculate each Type are displayed below in a single chart to see how
each formula differs from the others. "Source" is the left or primary input, "Mod" is the right
or secondary input, and "Amount" is the setting of the Mod Mixer Amount knob:
Type Formula
Multiply Source * Mod * Amount + Source * (1 - Amount)
Sum Source + (Mod * Amount)
Diff Source - (Mod * Amount)
Divide Source / (Amount + Mod)
Crossfade Amount crossfades Source and Mod
Lag
Source only; time-based low-pass filtering effect. At 0.500, it takes 500 ms to reach the
source's amplitude, at 1.00 (full) it takes 5 seconds.
: The output of the equations is not allowed to exceed the values of -1.00 and +1.00.
If either of the sources is polyphonic, then the Mod Mixer output is polyphonic; otherwise, the output
will be mono.
8.1.2.3. Modulation Mixer Output to multiple destinations
Once you have set up the modulation mix that you want, the three pulldown menus and
level controls at the bottom of the mixer allow you to send it to three destinations, control
how much modulation is sent to each, and the polarity of the modulation (additive or
subtractive. )
