2.2.4. Looper/Roller
The touch strip has 2 exclusive behaviors : you can choose between Looper or Roller. You
can switch between these two modes using Shift + Step 9 on the Drumbrute. When Step 9 is
lit up (while holding Shift) the Roller Mode is selected. This option is available as well in the
MCC in the Roller/Looper section.
The touch strip is also able to send Control Change when you use it, if you want to record
your Looper/Roller performance or activate an other gear. When activated Drumbrute
responds to incoming Control Change. You can change the Control Change number with the
MCC (see MCC Device Settings section).
However values are fixed:
• OFF = 0-24 (sends 0)
• 1/4 = 25-49 (sends 25)
• 1/8 = 50-74 (sends 50)
• 1/16 = 75-99 (sends 75)
• 1/32 = 100=127 (sends 100)
It means sending values between 25 and 49 (on the right Control Change) will activate 1/8.
Touching the strip on 1/8 will send value 25.
Channel used is the the Global MIDI Channel of the Drumbrute.
2.2.4.1. Looper Features
Loop length
The length of the loop is determined by the placement of your finger on the strip, with 1/
4 being the largest loop and 1/32 being the smallest. Changing the location of your finger
changes the size of the loop.
Loop start point
The start point of the loop is based on when you touch the strip during playback. You can
jump to a different loop position by pressing one of the Step buttons while holding your
finger on the strip.
2.2.4.2. Roller Features
The Roller strip allows you to roll instruments in real time. It will generate rolls based on the
time division selected within the touch strip area. You can roll multiple instruments at the
same time by pressing multiple pads.
Note that when an instrument is rolling its sequence is not played back.
