Chapter 5: Managing the System and Configuration Files
This chapter explains how to manage the system information, as well as how to manage the configuration files for
IntraCore 3624/48.
5.1 Managing the System
This section discusses the following tasks needed to manage the system information of the IntraCore 3624/48:
Setting the System Clock
Configuring the Host name
Changing the Password
Testing Connections with Ping Commands
Tracing Packet Routes
Enabling Syslog
Displaying the Operating Configuration
5.1.1 Setting the System Clock
The IntraCore 3624/48has a battery-backed system clock that is accurate even after a system restart.
To manually set the system clock, complete the following commands in privileged
configuration mode. Use a space and a question mark (?) to display the clock set
options. Save after configuring the clock by typing save at the switch# prompt.
Switch(Config)# sntp
daylight Enable or disable the daylight saving configuration
localtime Configure the local time
server
timezone
Switch(Config)# sntp localtime
enable Enable local time
localtime_date Set local time
Switch(Config)# sntp localtime localtime_date
<2007..2037> Enter year
Switch(Config)# sntp localtime localtime_date 2008 07 06 06 35 00
