PRODUCT SHEET: TPS R
FuncTionS
The Ascom Tactical Power Supply Unit TPS R supports the following modes
of operation:
Mobile Operation
If the vehicle motor is running the loads are fed from the vehicle alternator
via the TPS R. At the same time the system battery is charged via the TPS R. If
the vehicle motor is not running, the flow of energy is inverted: vehicle battery
and system battery supply the TPS R and the connected loads. The protection
circuit of the TPS R avoids a total discharge of the vehicle battery.
Stationary Operation
The TPS R is supplied by a 230VAC source such as AC mains or a generator
and – if existing – is supported by the system battery. The system battery is
charged and the other loads are fed via TPS R.
Charging of Vehicle Battery
If the vehicle battery is connected to 9 [System Accu] the vehicle battery
is charged. Charging current is automatically limited to 20A max.
Housing, Cooling, Ventilation
The Supply Unit TPS R is available in a 19’’ housing. It is intended for use in
a wheeled vehicle. The housing is made of aluminium and complies with IP55.
Internal cooling is realised using a passive cooling system. If required,
external ventilation of the cooling element can be achieved through an optional
external fan. Operation of the external fan is controlled by TPS R.
Cables connected to TPS R do not require shielding.
