Supporting a full range of standards
The Ascom VoWiFi system supports both IEEE 802.11b and g radio net-
works, allowing smooth operation on 802.11g networks without the
throughput impact caused by slower 802.11b devices. The system also
supports novel standards such as IEEE 802.11i and IEEE 802.11e, ensuring
a high level of security and voice quality.
The Ascom VoWiFi system – a one-stop solution
The Ascom VoWiFi is a standards-based package that consists of VoWiFi
portable handsets, a smart, flexible and robust messaging system as well
as a VoIP gateway that allows smooth integration with your current com-
munication networks.
The gateway to wireless efficiency
The Ascom VoIP Gateway allows smooth integration with a circuit-switched
PBX or public switched telephone network to provide high quality voice
communication between Ascom VoWiFi handsets and any other telephone
in your facility. Specially designed for businesses – providing state-of-the-
art digital telephony for up to 1,000 Ascom handsets, the VoIP Gateway
offers T1 or E1 interfaces and 60 simultaneous speech channels to the PBX.
And to ensure maximum compatibility, there is full support for a compre-
hensive range of protocols, including QSIG, NI-2, 5ESS, DMS 100 as well as
the E&M CAS trunk protocol.
Built for high availability and trouble-free maintenance, the VoIP
Gateway contains no fans or moving parts.
