Before operating this appliance, proceed through following checklist.
1. Read and understand these instructions before operating this appliance.
2. Check that there are no gas leaks. If you smell gas do not attempt to light this appliance.
3. Verify that log placement is correct.

A. When lighting pilot follow these instructions exactly. If piezo fails, then light pilot using matches. Refer to
Manual Lighting Instructions.
B. BEFORE LIGHTING smell all around appliance area for gas. Be sure to smell next to oor because some
gas is heavier than air and will settle to oor.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU SMELL GAS
Do not try to light any appliance.
Do not touch any electric switch; do not use any phone in your building.
Immediately call your gas supplier from a neighbor’s phone. Follow gas supplier’s instructions.
If you cannot reach your gas supplier, call re department.
C. Use only your hand to push in or turn gas knob. Never use tools. If knob will not push in or turn by hand,
don’t try to repair it. Call a quali ed service technician. Force or attempted repair may result in a re or
explosion.
D. Do not use this appliance if any or part of it has been under water. Immediately call a quali ed service
technician to inspect the appliance and to replace any part of the control system and any gas control
which has been under water.
