TROUBLESHOOTING
WARNING
TURN OFF, UNPLUG HEATER AND LET COOL BEFORE SERVICING.
ONLY A QUALIFIED SERVICE PERSON SHOULD SERVICE AND REPAIR
HEATER.
CAUTION
NEVER USE A WIRE, NEEDLE, OR SIMILAR OBJECT TO CLEAN ODS/
PILOT. THIS CAN DAMAGE ODS/PILOT.
OBSERVED
PROBLEM
When igniter button is pressed,
there is no spark at ODS/PILOT
OBSERVED
PROBLEM
When igniter button is pressed,
there is spark at ODS/PILOT but
no ignition
POSSIBLE
CAUSE
1. Igniter electrode positioned
incorrectly
2. Igniter electrode broken
3. Igniter electrode not
connected to igniter cable
4. Igniter cable pinched or wet
5. Piezo igniter nut is loose
6. Broken igniter cable
7. Bad piezo igniter
POSSIBLE
CAUSE
1. Gas supply turned off or
manual shutoff valve is
closed
2. Control knob not in “PILOT”
position
3. Control knob not pressed in
while in “PILOT” position
SOLUTION
1. Replace igniter
2. Replace igniter
3. Reconnect igniter cable
4. Free igniter cable if pinched
by any metal or tubing. Keep
igniter cable dry.
5. Tighten nut.
6. Replace piezo igniter cable
7. Replace igniter cable
SOLUTION
1. Turn on gas supply or open
manual shutoff valve
2. Turn control knob to ”PILOT”
position
3. Press in control knob while in
“PILOT” position.
