NORMAL (Factory default)
When playing DVDs recorded in Dolby Digital or DTS,
bitstream signals are output from the digital audio output
terminals¸ When playing DVDs recorded in linear PCM or
packed PCM, linear PCM signals are output¸
Select "NORMAL" when making digital connections to an
AV amplifier with buik-in Dolby Digital and DTS decoder¸
PCM
When playing Dolby Digital/DTS bitstream signals or
DVDs recorded in linear PCM or packed PCM, the signals
are converted into 46 kHz/16-bit PCM (2-channell signals
and output from the digital outputs¸ When playing DVDs
recorded in PCM, linear PCM signals are output¸
_" When "LPCM {441 kHz / 48 kHz}rr is selected:
OFF (Factory default}
When playing linear PCM or packed PCM DVDs that are not
copyr ght protected, for 2-channel PCM audo signals _p to
96 kHz, linear PCM s gna}s are output as such wthout being
converted from the digital outputs (1762 kHz and 192 kHz
signals are converted to 882 kHz a_d 96 kHz, respectively)
PCM sig_als of 48 kHz/16 bits and lower are output, regardless
of whether they are copyright-protected or _ot
For DVDs co_tain ng mu t-cha_me PCM sg_als, the d gital

sources for which down-mixing is proh bited )
When playing copyr ght-protected linear PCM or packed
PCM DVDSr in consideration of copyrights, no digtal

When playing such sources, either set to "ON" or make
analog connections (See page 9)
ON
Linear PCM and packed PCM signals are converted to 441
kHz or 48 kHz and output (The PCM digtal audio output

copyr ghts ) When makng dgtal co_mections to an AV
amplifier that is not compatible with 96 kHz/88 2 kNz signa}s,
set to "ON"
When playing DVDs recorded in linear PCM or packed
PCM and the unit is set to output digilal and analog audio
signals simultaneously, the analog audio output signals
