video contents included on a DVD audio disc
CAPTIONS
Use this to set wbether or not to display the closed
caption,s recorded on DVDs
COMPRESSION
Use this to set the dy_amic range output when playing
discs
AUTO POWER MODE
To save power, DVD-3800's carl automat cally be set to
the standby mode when it is not used for long periods of
time
SLIDE SHOW
The time interval for switcMng to the next still picture
whe_ playing slide shows of still pictures (in JPEG format)
can be set

Set this to play the DVD audio signals as such

captions on the screen when playing DVDs containing
English captions

Select this to display the captions on the screen when
playing DVDs containing English captions¸

Select this for the standard range
ON
Select this to achieve powerful sound even when the
volume s low This setting is suited for watching DVDs
late at night with the volume low (This sett ng is o_ly
valid for DVDs recorded in Dolby Digtal )
_A_When "AUTO POWER MODE" is selected:
OFF (Factory default}
The power does not automatically switch to the standby
mode
ON
The DVD-38O0's power turns off and the standby mode
is set if the DVD-3800 remains in the stop mode for
approximately 30 minutes
{5 When "SLIDE SHOW" is selected:
Use the • and • cursor buttons to set the time interval
The time nterval can be set withi_ 5 and 15 seco_ds
(The factory default setting is 5 seco_ds )
•--To exit the setup mode
Use the • cursor button to select "EXIT SETUP", then press the ENTER button It is also possible to quit
by pressing the SETUP button on the remote control unit
NOTES:
• An English caption decoder is required to display English captio_ls
• DVDs with caption signals are indicated by the I_ , I_ , W r mark
English captions cannot be displayed when playing DVDs which do not contain caption signals
• The characters in which the captions are displayed (cap tal letters, small letters, italics, etc) depend on the
DVD and cannot be selected with the DVD-38g0
