Color component output connectors (PR/CR, PB/CB and Y)
The red (PR/CR}, blue (PB/CB) and brightness (Y) signals are output indepel]dently, achievil]g
more faithful reproduction of the colors
• The color component input connectors may be marked differently on some TVs or
monitors (PR, PB and Y/R-Y, B-Y and Y/CR, CB and Y, etc) For details, refer to the W's
operating instructions
Connect in this way if your TV is compatible with Progressive Scan.

• Use the three comrnerciaEly available video cords to connect the DVD_gB00's color component output
conne_ors to the [_ or monitor
• Set the "TV TYPE" in "VIDEO SETUP" n "SETUP" to comply with your TV's video format Wllen the TV
is PAL formated, set to PAL (See page 16)
• Set the "VIDEO OUT" n "VIDEO SETUP" i_1"SETUP" to comply with Progressive TV (NTSC formated
only)
• To use with 2-channel audio output, set "2 CHANNEL" in "AUDIO CHANNEL" in "AUDIO SETUP" in
"SETUP" at the initial settings (See page 17)
• Set the "TV ASPECT" in "VIDEO SETUP" in "SETUP" to comply with your W's aspect (See page 16)
• Use the commercially 21-pi_l SCART cable to con_lect the TV's 21-pi_l SCART terminal to the DVD-38gO's 21_
pin SCART terminal (AVl /AV2)

NOTES:
• Some discs contain copy prohibt signals If such
discs are played via a VCR, the copy prohibit
system may cause disturbance in the picture
• Set the "TV TYPE" n "VIDEO SETUP" in
"SETUP" to comply with your TV's video format
When the TV is PAL formated, set to PAL (See
page 16)
• To mprove picture quality, you ca_l change the video sig_lal output from the AVl terminal from "Video" to
either "S-Video" or "RG B" to suit the type of television you are using (See page 16)
• You can also connect other equipment to AV2

COMPATIBLE WITH THIS PRODUCT AND MAY CAUSE ARTIFACTS TO BE DISPLAYED IN THE PICTURE
IN CASE OF 525 PROGRESSIVE SCAN PICTURE PROBLEMS, iT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE USER
SWITCH THE CONNECTiON TO THE "STANDARD DEFINITION" OUTPUT
NOTES:
• Set the DVD-3800 to the standby mode to output video or audio signals of another device connected to
the DVD-3800's 21-pi_l SCART terminal
(If the power is O_lrthe DVD-38gO's video and audio sig_lalS are output If the poweE is off, the signals of
the other device will not be output)
• To use the 21-pin SCART terminal, set "AUDIO CHANNEL" under "AUDIO SETUP" at "SETUP" to r'2
