6.5 PCH Storage Configuration
While entering Setup, the BIOS automatically detects the presence of SATA devices. The
SATA device port items show Empty if no SATA device is installed to the corresponding
port. Scroll down to display the other BIOS items.
The settings and options of this menu may vary depending on your motherboard. Please
refer to the BIOS of your motherboard for the actual settings and options.
SATA Controller(s)
Allows you to enable or disable the SATA Device.
Configuration options: [Disabled] [Enabled]
The following items appear only when SATA Controller(s) is set to [Enabled].
Aggressive LPM support
Allows PCH to aggressively enter link power state.
Configuration options: [Disabled] [Enabled]
SMART Self Test
S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) is a monitoring system
that shows a warning message during POST (Power-on Self Test) when an error occurs in
the hard disks.
Configuration options: [Disabled] [Enabled]
The SATA items may vary according to your motherboard’s ports/slots. Please refer to the
BIOS of your motherboard for the actual settings and options.
