3.9 Installing a heat spreader
1. Place the heat spreader with its copper pad and thermal interface
material facing up on a at surface.
2. Remove the plastic protective lm from the copper pad and thermal
interface material on the heat spreader, if there is one.
3. Orient the motherboard so that the CPU and chipset on its backside are
in direct contact with the copper pad on the heat spreader, and the ve
(5) screw holes on the motherboard are aligned to the ve (5) standos
on the heat spreader.
