1.1 Front panel English The ASUS Essentio ES5100/ES5100-P Desktop PC includes an ASUS motherboard, a power supply unit, a front panel, and a rear panel. All of these components are integrated in a system casing elaborately designed by ASUS. The illustrations below show the front panel and the components on it. Placement options 1.3.1 Horizontal placement English 1.3 Place your desktop PC horizontally. 1.3.2 Vertical placement Install the foot stand supplied in the system package. Place your desktop PC vertically. To install the foot stand: 1. Locate the screw hole on the bottom of your desktop PC. 2. Secure the foot stand to your desktop PC with the supplied screw.
1.4 Connecting to the keyboard and the mouse English The ASUS Essentio ES5100/ES5100-P Desktop PC is equipped with a PS/2 keyboard and a USB mouse. Connect the PS/2 keyboard to the PS/2 keyboard port at the rear panel. Connect the USB mouse to a USB port either at the rear or front panel. If you are using a wireless USB keyboard or mouse, refer to the documentation that comes with the device or contact your supplier directly for information on how to configure it. 1.
Chapter 2 Getting started This chapter helps you to power up the system and install drivers and utilities from the Support DVD.
2.1 Installing an operating system English This motherboard supports Windows® XP / Vista operating systems (OS). Always install the latest OS version and the corresponding updates to maximize the features of your hardware. When you start the system for the first time, the system automatically detects the built-in audio and graphics chips and attempts to install the drivers that come with the OS. Select NO when a window appears asking if you want to restart the system.
2.3 Support DVD information English The Support DVD that comes with the system package contains the drivers, software applications, and utilities that you can install to get all system features. The contents of the Support DVD are subject to change at any time without notice. Visit the ASUS website at www.asus.com for updates. 2.3.1 Running the Support DVD Place the Support DVD into the optical drive. The DVD automatically displays the Drivers menu if Autorun is enabled on your computer.
2.3.2 Drivers menu English The Drivers menu shows the available device drivers if the system detects installed devices. Install the necessary drivers to activate the devices. ASUS InstAll - Drivers Installation Wizard Installs the ASUS InstAll-Drivers Installation Wizard. Intel(R) Chipset Inf Update Program Installs the Intel® chipset Inf update program. Realtek Audio Driver Installs the Realtek® audio driver and application. ATI Display Driver Installs the ATI display driver.
2.3.3 Utilities menu English The Utilities menu shows the applications and other software that the motherboard supports. Tap an item from the screen to install. ASUS InstAll - Installation Wizard for Utilities Installs all of the utilities through the Installation Wizard. ASUS Update Allows you to download the latest version of BIOS from the ASUS website. Before using the ASUS Update, ensure that you have an Internet connection so that you can connect to the ASUS website.
2.3.4 Manuals menu English The Support DVD includes the manual of Realtek HD Audio. The manual is in PDF format. To open it, install the Adobe Acrobat Reader from the Utilities menu. 2.3.5 ASUS contact information Click the Contact tab to display the ASUS contact information.
2.3.6 Other information English The icons on the top right corner of the screen give additional information on the motherboard and the contents of the Support DVD. Click an icon to display the specified information. Motherboard Info Displays the general specifications of the motherboard. Browse this DVD Displays the Support DVD contents in graphical format.
Technical support Form English Displays the ASUS Technical Support Request Form that you have to fill out when requesting technical support. Filelist Displays the contents of the Support DVD and a brief description of each in text format.
2.4 ASUS AI Manager 2.4.1 English ASUS AI Manager allows you to launch AI Disk, AI Security, AI Gear, and AI Probe easily. Installing AI Manager To install AI Manager on your computer: 1. Place the Support DVD into the optical drive. The DVD automatically displays the Drivers menu if Autorun is enabled on your computer. If Autorun is NOT enabled on your computer, browse the contents of the Support DVD to locate the file ASSETUP.EXE from the BIN folder. Double-click the ASSETUP.EXE to run the DVD. 2.

Click to close AI Manager. 2.4.4 Main Launch AI Disk, AI Security, AI Gear, and AI Probe from the Main menu. Click the small triangle to open or close the Main menu. Click to open/close the Main menu AI Disk AI Disk allows you to easily clear the temporary IE files, IE URLs, IE cookies, IE history list, Recycle Bin, and recently opened files list.
English AI Security AI Security allows you to set passwords to lock your removable storage devices such as a USB flash disk and a CD/DVD disk, which ensures more security for your data. To lock a device: 1. If you are using AI Security for the first time, key in a password that consists of no more than 20 letters, numbers, or symbols. 2 Confirm your password. 3. Key in your password hint (optional). 4. Click OK.
Select the device you want to lock, then click Apply. 6. Key in your password, then click OK. The device you selected cannot be accessed without the password. English 5. To unlock a device: 1. Deselect the device you locked, then click Apply. 2. Key in your password, then click OK. To change your password, click Change Password and follow the onscreen instructions.
English AI Gear AI Gear provides three system performance profiles that adjust the processor frequency and vCore voltage to minimize the system noise and power consumption. Select the system performance profile that meets your computing needs. AI Probe AI Probe automatically detects the motherboard and CPU temperatures, CPU fan speed, and CPU voltage. It also allows you to adjust these values manually.
2.4.5 My favorites English Add your favorite applications to the My Favorites menu. To add an application: 1. Click Add and then select from the succeeding screen the application you want to add to the My Favorites menu. 2. Click Open. The application you selected is added and its icon appears. Right-click an icon in the My Favorites menu to open, delete, or rename the corresponding application. Double-click an icon to open the corresponding application.
2.4.6 Support 2.4.7 English The Support menu displays links to the ASUS international website, online technical support website, online download support website, and contact information website. Information The Information menu displays the general information of your system, motherboard, CPU, BIOS, memory, and other devices installed.
2.5 Loading the initial OS default settings English If you want to load the initial default settings for your system, press during the Power-On Self-Test (Post). 2.6 Recovery CD (optional) The ASUS PC Recovery CD assists you in reinstalling the OS and restoring it to its original working state. Before using the recovery CD, copy your data files to a USB flash disk or to a network drive and make note of any customized configuration settings such as network settings.
2.6.2 Recovering a Windows® Vista OS 1. Turn on your ASUS Desktop PC and press F8 when the ASUS logo appears. 2. Verbinden Sie die PS/2-Tastatur mit dem PS/2-Anschluss an der Rückseite. Verbinden Sie die USB-Maus mit einem USBAnschluss an der Front- oder an der Rückseite.

2.1 Installieren des Betriebssystems Dieses Motherboard unterstützt Windows® XP / Vista-Betriebssysteme. Installieren Sie immer die neuste Version des Betriebssystems und die entsprechenden Updates, um die Funktionen Ihrer Hardware voll auszuschöpfen. Wenn Sie Ihr System zum ersten Mal starten, erkennt das System automatisch die eingebauten Audio- und Grafik-Chips und versucht die im Betriebssystem enthaltenen Treiber zu installieren.
2.3 Support-DVD-Informationen Die mitgelieferte Support-DVD enthält die Treiber, die Software-Anwendungen und die Hilfsprogramme, die Sie installieren können, um alle Systemfunktionen verfügbar zu machen. Die Inhalte der Support-DVD können jederzeit und ohne vorherige Ankündigung geändert werden. 2.4 ASUS AI-Manager Der ASUS AI-Manager ermöglicht Ihnen den einfachen Start von AI Disk, AI Security, AI Gear und AI Probe. 2.4.1 Installieren von AI-Manager So installieren Sie den AI-Manager auf Ihrem Computer: 1. Legen Sie die Support-DVD in das optische Laufwerk. Die DVD zeigt automatisch das Treiber-Menü, wenn Autorun auf Ihrem Computer aktiviert ist. 2. Klicken Sie auf den Tab Hilfsprogramme aund dann auf ASUS AI-Manager. 3.
Klicken Sie auf , um zwischen Vollbild AI Manager-Fenster und der Schnellstartleiste umzuschalten. Klicken Sie auf , um AI Manager in der Taskleiste zu behalten. Klicken Sie auf , um AI Manager zu schließen. 2.4.4 Hauptmenü Deutsch Startet vom Hauptmenü AI Disk, AI Security, AI Gear oder AI Probe. Klicken Sie auf das kleine Dreieck, um das Hauptmenü zu öffnen oder zu schließen.
AI Security AI Security ermöglicht Ihnen Passwörter einzurichten, um Ihre Wechseldatenträger, z.B. USB-Laufwerk und CD/DVD-Laufwerk zu sperren, damit eine höhere Sicherheit für Ihre Daten besteht. 1. Wenn Sie AI Security zum ersten Mal benutzen, geben Sie ein Passwort ein, welches nicht mehr als 20 Buchstaben, Zahlen oder Zeichen enthält. 2 Bestätigen Sie Ihr Passwort. 3. Geben Sie Ihren Passworthinweis ein (optional). 4. Klicken Sie auf OK.
Wählen Sie das zu sperrende Gerät und klicken Sie dann auf Anwenden. 6. Geben Sie ein Passwort ein und klicken Sie dann auf OK. AI Gear Deutsch AI Gear stellt drei Systemleistungsprofile zur Verfügung, die die Prozessorfrequenz und die vCore-Spannung minimieren, um die Systemgeräusche und den Stromverbrauch zu reduzieren. Wählen Sie das Systemleistungsprofil, welches Ihren Anforderungen entspricht.. AI Probe AI Probe erkennt automatisch die Motherboard- und Prozessortemperatur, die Prozessorlüftergeschwindigkeit und Prozessorspannung. Es ermöglicht Ihnen auch die manuelle Einstellung dieser Werte.

2.4 ASUS AI Manager ASUS AI Manager vous permet de lancer les utilitaires AI Disk, AI Security, AI Gear et AI Probe en toute simplicité. 2.4.1 Installer AI Manager Pour installer AI Manager sur votre ordinateur : 1. Placez le CD de support dans votre lecteur optique. Si l'Exécution automatique est activée, l'assistant d'installation des pilotes apparaît. 2. Cliquez sur l’onglet Utilities, puis cliquez sur ASUS AI Manager. 3.

AI Gear Français AI Gear est un utilitaire simple d’utilisation offrant trois options de performances système vous permettant d’ajuster la fréquence du processeur et la tension VCore pour minimiser les nuisances sonores du système et la consommation électrique. Sélectionnez le profil selon vos besoins. AI Probe AI Probe détecte automatiquement les températures de la carte mère et du CPU, la vitesse de rotation du ventilateur CPU, et la tension du CPU. Vous pouvez ajuster ces valeurs selon vos besoins.
2.4.5 Mes favoris Mes favoris vous permet d’ajouter à la liste de vos favoris les applications que vous utilisez le plus fréquemment afin d’en faciliter l’accès. Si está iniciando el sistema por primera vez, el sistema detectará automáticamente los chips de audio y gráficos integrados e intentará instalar los controladores que incluye el SO. Seleccione NO si aparece una ventana preguntando si desea reiniciar el sistema.

Inserte el DVD de soporte en la unidad óptica. El DVD mostrará automáticamente el menú Drivers (Controladores) si la función de ejecución automática está habilitada en su sistema.

Dit hoofdstuk geeft een algemene beschrijving van de bureaucomputer. Het hoofdstuk geeft de systeemeigenschappen en een beschrijving van het voor- en achterpaneel.
1.1 Voorpaneel De bureaucomputer ASUS Essentio ES5000/ES5000-P bevat een ASUSmoederbord, een voedingspparaat, een voorpaneel en een achterpaneel. Al deze onderdelen zijn geïntegreerd in een systeembehuizing die door ASUS is ontworpen. De onderstaande illustraties tonen het voorpaneel en de componenten daarop. 1.3 Opties voor plaatsing 1.3.1 Horizontale plaatsing Zet de bureaucomputer horizontaal. 1.3.2 Verticale plaatsing Nederlands Monteer de meegeleverde standaard. Zet de bureaucomputer verticaal. Montage van de standaard: 1. Zoek het schroefgat aan de onderkant van de bureaucomputer. 2. Monteer de standaard op de bureaucomputer met de meegeleverde schroef.
1.4 Het toetsenbord en de muis aansluiten De bureaucomputer ASUS Essentio ES5100/ES5100-P wordt geleverd met een ps/2-toetsenbord en een usb-muis. Sluit het ps/2-toetsenbord aan op de daarvoor bestemde aansluiting op het achterpaneel. Sluit de usb-muis aan op een usbaansluiting op het voor- of achterpaneel. Gebruikt u een draadloos usb-toetsenbord of een draadloze usb-muis, lees dan de documentatie die met het apparaat geleverd is of vraag uw leverancier om informatie over de instellingen. 1.
Dit hoofdstuk helpt u om het systeem in te schakelen en stuurprogramma's en hulpprogramma's van de meegeleverde dvd te installeren.
2.1 Een besturingssysteem installeren Dit moederbord ondersteunt de besturingssystemen (OS) Windows® XP / Vista. Installeer altijd de nieuwste versie van het besturingssysteem en de bijbehorende updates om zo veel mogelijk plezier te hebben van de hardware. Start u het systeem voor het eerst, dan herkent het systeem automatisch de ingebouwde audio- en videochips en zal het de stuurprogramma's van het besturingssysteem installeren.
2.3 Informatie van de meegeleverde dvd De dvd die met de computer geleverd is bevat alle stuurprogramma's, toepassingen en hulpprogramma's die u kunt installeren m de systeemeigenschappen te kunnen gebruiken. De inhoud van de meegeleverde dvd kan op elk moment veranderen zonder kennisgeving. Ga naar de website van ASUS, www.asus.com voor updates. 2.3.1 De meegeleverde dvd starten Leg de meegeleverde dvd in de optische lezer.
2.3.2 Het menu Stuurprogramma's Het menu Drivers (Stuurprogramma's) toont de beschikbare stuurprogramma;s als het systeem geïnstalleerde apparaten detecteert. Installeer de benodigde stuurprogramma's om de apparaten te kunnen gebruiken. ASUS InstAll – Wizard voor installatie van stuurprogramma's Installeery de ASUS InstAll-Drivers Installatiewizard. Intel(R) Chipset Inf Update Programma Installeert het Intel® chipset Inf update programma.
2.3.3 Menu Hulpprogramma's Het menu Utilities (Hulpprogramma's) toont de toepassingen en anderen software die het moederbord ondersteunt. Tik op een object op het scherm om te installeren. ASUS InstAll - Installatiewizard voor hulpprogramma's Installeert alle hulpprogrtamma's met de installatiewizard. ASUS opwaarderen Maakt het mogelijk de laatste versie van het BIOS van de website van ASUS te downloaden.
2.3.4 Handleidingenmenu De meegeleverde dvd bevat de handleiding van Realtek HD Audio. The handleiding heeft de pdf-indeling. Om hem te lezen moet u eerst met het menu Utilities (Hulpprogramma's) de Adobe Acrobat Reader installeren. 2.3.5 ASUS contactinformatie Klik op de tab Contact om de contactgegevens van ASUS te vinden.
2.3.6 Andere informatie De pictogrammen in de rechterbovenhoek van het scherm geven extra informatie over het moederbord en de inhoud van de meegeleverde dvd. Klik op een pictogram om de gespecificeerde informatie te tonen. Moederbordinfo Toont de algemene specificaties van het moederbord. Bladeren door de dvd Nederlands Toont de inhoud van de meegeleverde dvd met een grafische indeling.
Formulier voor technische ondersteuning Toont het aanvraagformulier voor technische ondersteuning van ASUS. Vul het in als u technische ondersteuning wilt vragen. Bestandlijst Toont de inhoud van de meegeleverde dvd en een korte omschrijving van elk bestand.
2.4 ASUS AI-beheer Met ASUS AI-beheer kunt u gemakkelijk AI Disk, AI Security, AI Gear en AI Probe starten. 2.4.1 AI-beheer installeren Zo installeert u AI-beheer op uw computer: 1. Leg de meegeleverde dvd in de optische lezer. De dvd toont automatisch het menu Drivers (Stuurprogramma's) als Autorun op de computer actief is. Is Autorun op de computer niet geactiveerd, blader dan door de inhoud van de dvd naar de map BIN en het bestand ASSETUP.EXE. Dubbelklik op ASSETUP. EXE om de dvd te starten. 2.
Klik op om om te schakelen tussen het schermvullende venster van AI-beheer en de snelle werkbalk. Klik op om AI-beheer in de taakbalk te zetten. Klik op om AI-beheer te sluiten. 2.4.4 Main U start AI Disk, AI Security, Ai Gear en AI Probe in het menu Main. Klik op het kleine driehoekje om het menu te openen en te sluiten.
AI Security Met AI Security kunt u wachtwoorden instellen om de verwisselbare opslagapparaten te beveiligen, zoals een usb-flashschijf en een cd- of dvd-schijf. Dit geeft uw gegevens meer veiligheid. Een apparaat blokkeren: Gebruikt u AI Security voor de eerste keer, geef dan een wachtwoord op van niet meer dan 20 letters, cijfers of symbolen. 2 Bevestig het wachtwoord. 3. Geef eventueel een wachtwoordhint op. 4. Klik op OK. Nederlands 1.
5. Selecteer het apparaat dat u wilt blokkeren en klik op Apply (Toepassen). 6. Geef het wachtwoord op en klik op OK. Het geselecteerde apparaat is nu niet meer toegankelijk zonder wachtwoord. Een apparaat deblokkeren: 1. Verwijder de selectie bij het geblokkeerde apparaat en klik op Apply (Toepassen). 2. Geef het wachtwoord op en klik op OK. Om het wachtwoord te veranderen, klikt u op Change Password (Wachtwoord veranderen). Volg daarna de instructies op het scherm.
AI Gear AI Gear biedt drie profielen voor systeemprestaties die de processorfrequentie en de vCore-spanning aanpassen om de systeemruis en het energieverbruik te minimaliseren. Selecteer het profiel voor de systeemprestaties dat overeenstemt met uw computerbehoeften. AI Probe Nederlands AI Probe detecteert automatisch de temperaturen van het moederbord en de CPU, de ventilatorsnelheid en de voedingsspanning van de CPU. U kunt deze waarden ook handmatig bijstellen.
2.4.5 Mijn favorieten U kunt uw favoriete toepassingen toevoegen aan het menu My Favorites (Mijn favorieten). Een toepassing toevoegen: 1. Klik op Add (Toevoegen) en kies in het volgende scherm de toepassing die u wilt toevoegen aan het menu My Favorites (Mijn favorieten). 2. Klik op Open. De geselecteerde toepassing wordt toegevoegd en zijn pictogram verschijnt.
2.4.6 Ondersteuning In het menu Support (Ondersteuning) vindt u koppelingen naar de internationale website van ASUS, naar de websites voor technische ondersteuning, voor downloads en met contactgegevens. 2.4.7 Informatie Nederlands Het menu Information (Informatie) toont algemene informatie over uw systeem, moederbord, CPU, BIOS, geheugen en andere geïnstalleerde apparaten.
2.5 De oorspronkelijke instellingen van het besturingssysteem laden If you want to load the initial default settings for your system, press during the Power-On Self-Test (Post). 2.6 Herstel-cd (optioneel) De herstel-cd van de ASUS PC helpt u bij het herinstalleren van het besturingssysteem en herstel van de oorspronkelijke situatie.
2.6.2 Het besturingssysteem Windows® Vista herstellen U herstelt het besturingssysteem Windows XP als volgt: 1. Zet de ASUS-bureaucomputer aan en druk op F8 als het logo van ASUS verschijnt. 2. Leg de herstel-cd in de optische lezer als het menu Please select boot device (Selecteer een opstartapparaat) verschijnt. Selecteer de optische lezer als opstartapparaat en druk op Enter om verder te gaan. Wilt u het systeem herstellen van de verborgen partitie, druk dan op F9 als het logo van ASUS verschijnt.
