2.4.2 Memory Configurations
You may install 4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB, and 32 GB RDIMMs or 32 GB or 64 GB LR-DIMMs into
the DIMM sockets using the memory congurations in this section.
Single CPU Configuration
• Refer to ASUS Server AVL for the updated list of compatible DIMMs.
• When installing only one DIMM in a single CPU conguration, install the DIMM on
either A1 or B1.
• Always install DIMMs with the same CAS latency. For optimum compatibility, it is
recommended that you obtain memory modules from the same vendor.

Make sure that you have installed the CPU, the CPU heatsink, and the CPU air duct before
installing the DIMMs. Doing so will prevent issues in installing the DIMMs next to the CPU.
