4. Digital Audio connector (4-1 pin SPDIF_OUT)
This connector is for the S/PDIF audio module to allow digital sound output.
Connect one end of the S/PDIF audio cable to this connector and the other
end to the S/PDIF module.
The S/PDIF module is purchased separately.
3. Serial ATA connectors (7-pin SATA1, SATA2)
These connectors are for the Serial ATA signal cables for Serial ATA 3.0 Gb/s
hard disk drives.
If you installed Serial ATA hard disk drives, you can can create a RAID 0,
RAID 1, and JBOD conguration through the onboard VIA VT8237S RAID
controller. Refer to the RAID controllers user manual in the motherboard
support CD for detailed information on RAID congurations. See section
“3.2.5 Manuals menu”.
Important notes on Serial ATA
The Serial ATA RAID feature (RAID 0, RAID 1, and JBOD) is available only
if you are using Windows
®
2000/2003 Server/XP/Vista operation system.
Install the Windows

2000 Service Pack 4, the Windows
®
XP Service
Pack1 or later version before using Serial ATA.
