INSTALLATION
BEFORE YOU BEGIN.
This G-SYNC module uses a printed circuit board and semiconductor devices
that can be damaged by electrostatic discharge (ESD). When handling, care
must be taken so that the devices are not damaged.
> Do not open the protective packaging until you have read the following
> Use a conductive wrist strap attached to an earth ground.
> Discharge yourself by touching a grounded bare metal surface or approved
anti-static mat before handling the module.
> Use an approved anti-static mat to cover your work surface.
Some parts in the kit have sharp edges. Take care when handling these parts.
Take great care when disconnecting and reconnecting cabling. The application
of too much force can result in broken components.
01. Place monitor face down on a clean surface.
If in use, turn off monitor, disconnect monitor from AC power outlet, and
disconnect all display cables connected to the monitor. Place monitor
face down on a flat surface.
If in packaging, remove monitor from packaging, remove foam protector cover,
and place monitor face down on a flat surface.
Note: Set aside the AC power cable. It will be required during
reassembly.
To protect the monitor bezel from scratches, place the
monitor on a soft cloth or other protective surface.
02. Separate the plastic monitor housing.
Insert the plastic shim tool into the bottom opening. Be careful not to scratch
the monitor. Push up the plastic shim gently to separate the plastic housing at
a fastening point as shown. You’ll hear a clicking sound. Use a flat head screw
driver to keep the upper and lower housing pieces separate, then move the
plastic shim to the next fastening point and push up gently until you hear
a click. Repeat the steps all the way around the monitor housing to open
up all 20 fastening points.
03. Remove the back cover.
Lift the back cover off the monitor and set it aside for later reassembly.
