Safety information • Before setting up the monitor, carefully read all the documentation that came with the package. • To prevent fire or shock hazard, never expose the monitor to rain or moisture. • Never try to open the monitor cabinet. The dangerous high voltages inside the monitor may result in serious physical injury. • If the power supply is broken, do not try to fix it by yourself. Contact a qualified service technician or your retailer.
Care & Cleaning • Before you lift or reposition your monitor, it is better to disconnect the cables and power cord. Follow the correct lifting techniques when positioning the monitor. When lifting or carrying the monitor, grasp the edges of the monitor. Do not lift the display by the stand or the cord. • Cleaning. Turn your monitor off and unplug the power cord. Clean the monitor surface with a lint-free, non-abrasive cloth. Stubborn stains may be removed with a cloth dampened with mild cleaner.

1.1 Welcome! ® Thank you for purchasing the ASUS LCD monitor! The latest widescreen LCD monitor from ASUS provides a crisper, broader, and brighter display, plus a host of features that enhance your viewing experience. With these features, you can enjoy the convenience and delightful visual experience that the monitor brings to you! 1.
1.3 Monitor introduction 1.3.1 Front view 4 1. 2. • Activates the QuickFit function. (Please refer to 1.3.3 QuickFit Function). Button: Press this hotkey to switch from six video preset modes (Scenery Mode, Standard Mode, Theater Mode, Game Mode, Night View Mode, and sRGB Mode) with SPLENDID™ Video Intelligence Technology. • Exit the OSD menu or go back to the previous menu as the OSD menu is active.
6. Input Select Button: • Selects an available input source. Press (Input Select button) to display VGA/HDM signals after you connect a VGA, HDMI/MHL cable with the monitor. 7. Power Button/Power Indicator: • Press this button to turn the monitor on/off. • The color definition of the power indicator is as the table below.
1.3.2 Back view VX239H 1-4 1. HDMI/MHL port: This port is for connection with an HDMI/MHL compatible device. 2. VGA port: This 15-pin port is for PC VGA connection. 3. Audio-in port: This port connects PC audio source by the bundled audio cable. 4. Earphone jack: This port connects to an earphone. 5. DC-in port: This port connects the adapter. 6. Kensington Lock: This port connects a lock-and-cable apparatus for security purposes.
1.3.3 QuickFit Function The QuickFit function allows users to have a preview of the document or photo layout directly on screen without printing test copies. QuickFit has three patterns: a. Grid pattern: Facilitates designers and users to organize content and layout on one page and achieve a consistent look and feel. b. Paper size: Provides users to view their documents in real size on the screen. EXIT EXIT c.
1.3.4 GamePlus Function The GamePlus Function provides a toolkit and creates a better gaming environment for users when playing different types of games. In addition, Aimpoint function is specially designed for new gamers or beginners who are interested in First Person Shooter (FPS) games. To activate GamePlus: 1. Press the MENU button to activate the OSD menu. 2. Press and to select System Setup and press the MENU button to enter the System Setup sub-menu. 3.
2.1 Assembling the monitor base 2.1.1 Assembling the base 1. Have the front of the monitor face down on a table. 2. Attach the base to the arm and fix with the screw to join them tightly. You can easily tighten the screw by fingers. 3. Adjust the monitor to the angle that is most comfortable for you. We recommend that you cover the table surface with soft cloth to prevent damage to the monitor.
2.1.2 2-2 Detaching the base 1. Disconnect power and signal cables. Carefully put the front of the monitor face down on a clean table. 2. Use your fingers to loosen the screw located at the bottom of the base, and remove the base from the stand. 3. Or, you may directly use a screwdriver to remove the screw that secures the base to the stand, and detach the base from the stand. • We recommend that you cover the table surface with soft cloth to prevent damage to the monitor.
2.2 Adjusting the monitor • For optimal viewing, we recommend that you look at the full face of the monitor, then adjust the monitor to the angle that is most comfortable for you. • Hold the stand to prevent the monitor from falling while changing its angle. • You can adjust the monitor’s angle from -5˚ to 20˚. -5 to +20 It is normal that the monitor slightly shakes while you adjust the viewing angle.
2.3 Connecting the cables Connect the cables according to the following instructions: VX239H • To connect the power cord: a. b. • Connect the adapter to the monitor's DC input. Connect one end of the power cable to the adapter, and the other end to a power outlet. To connect the VGA, HDMI/MHL cable: a. Plug one end of the VGA, HDMI/MHL cable to the monitor's VGA, HDMI/MHL port. b. Connect the other end of the VGA, HDMI/MHL cable to your computer's VGA, HDMI/MHL port. c.
2.4 Turning on the monitor Press the power button . See 1.3.1 Front view for the location of the power button. The power indicator monitor is ON.
3.1 OSD (On-Screen Display) menu 3.1.1 How to reconfigure 1. Press the MENU button to activate the OSD menu. 2. Press and to navigate through the functions. Highlight and activate the desired function by pressing the MENU button. If the function selected has a sub-menu, press and again to navigate through the sub-menu functions. In the Standard Mode, the Saturation, Skin Tone, Sharpness, and ASCR functions are not user-configurable. In the sRGB Mode, the Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, Color Temp., Skin Tone, Sharpness, and ASCR functions are not userconfigurable. 2. Contrast: the adjusting range is from 0 to 100.
• Focus: reduces the Horizonal-line noise and Vertical-line noise of the image by adjusting (Phase) and (Clock) separately. The adjusting range is from 0 to 100. • Phase adjusts the phase of the pixel clock signal. With a wrong phase adjustment, the screen shows horizontal distrubances. • Clock (pixel frequency) controls the number of pixels scanned by one horizontal sweep. If the frequency is not correct, the screen shows vertical stripes and the image i not proportional.
• • • • Language: Select OSD language. The selections are English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Russian, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese. Key Lock: Enable/Disable the Key Lock function. Information: Display the monitor information of Input Port, Resolution, H-freq., V-freq, and Model Name. All Reset: Set to “Yes” to revert all settings to the factory default status.
