To prevent fire or shock hazard, never expose the monitor to rain or moisture. Never try to open the monitor cabinet. The dangerous high voltages inside the monitor may result in serious physical injury. If the power supply is broken, do not try to fix it by yourself. Contact a qualified service technician or your retailer.
Care & Cleaning • Before you lift or reposition your monitor, it is better to disconnect the cables and power cord. Follow the correct lifting techniques when positioning the monitor. When lifting or carrying the monitor, grasp the edges of the monitor. Do not lift the display by the stand or the cord. • Cleaning. Turn your monitor off and unplug the power cord. Clean the monitor surface with a lint-free, non-abrasive cloth. Stubborn stains may be removed with a cloth dampened with mild cleaner.

Chapter 1: Product Introduction 1.1 Welcome! Thank you for purchasing the ASUS® LCD monitor! The latest widescreen LCD monitor from ASUS provides a crisper, broader, and brighter display, plus a host of features that enhance your viewing experience. With these features, you can enjoy the convenience and delightful visual experience that the monitor brings to you! 1.
1.3 Assembling the Monitor Base 1. Carefully place the monitor on the EPS foam, with the screen facing down. 2. Attach the base to the arm. 3. Lift the screw ring and turn it clockwise to secure the base. 4. Place the arm hinge of the the stand assembly onto its compartment on the rear of the monitor. Then use the L-shaped screwdriver to secure it with four screws. 5. Install the stand cover to the rear of the monitor. • • 1-2 Base screw size: M6 x 12 mm. Hinge screw size: M4 x 10 mm.

1.5 Monitor Introduction 1.5.1 Using the Control Buttons Use the control buttons on the bottom of the monitor to adjust the image settings. Press key 1-6 to activate the key list page. To unlock, press the button again for more than five seconds. 2.
3. Shortcut Key2: • 4. This is a Shortcut key. The default setting is Brightness. QuickFit Button: • This is a hotkey to activate the QuickFit function designed for alignment. • The QuickFit function contains several options of common grid pattern, paper size, and photo size. See page 1-6 for details. 5. Input Button: • 6. Switch the input source. Close Button: • 7. Exit the OSD menu. Power Button/Power Indicator: • Press this button to turn the monitor on/off.
1.5.2 QuickFit Function The QuickFit function contains three patterns: • Grid pattern: Facilitates designers and users to organize content and layout on one page and achieve a consistent look and feel. Alignment Grid 1 • Alignment Grid 2 Paper size: Provides users to view their documents in real size on the screen. B5 Letter Letter B5 EXIT • Photo size: Provides photographers and other users to accurately view and edit their photos in real size on the screen.

1.5.3 EyeCheck Function The EyeCheck function contains three patterns: • Snellen Chart: Select one of the three available eye charts to measure visual acuity. To activate EyeCheck: 1. Press the details. button to activate the OSD menu. See page 1-4 for 2. Press the or button to select Eye Care. Then press the button to enter the Eye Care menu. 3. Press the or button to select EyeCheck. Then press the button to enter the EyeCheck menu. 4. Press the or button to select an option. Then press the button to confirm the selection.

Then press the button to confirm the selection. Press the button to exit the OSD menu. Press one of the control buttons, and then press the button to select EyeCheck.
1.5.4 GamePlus Function The GamePlus Function provides a toolkit and creates a better gaming environment for users when playing different types of games. The Crosshair overlay with four different crosshair options lets you choose the one that best suits the game you’re playing. The onscreen Timer can be positioned on the left of the display to keep track of the elapsed gaming time. The FPS (frames per second) counter lets you know how smooth the game is running. To activate GamePlus: 1.
To activate GamePlus using the assigned Shortcut key: 1. Press the details. 2. Press the or button to select Shortcut. Then press the or button to enter the Shortcut menu. Press the or button to select Shortcut 1 or Shortcut 2. Press the or button to enter the Shortcut 1 or Shortcut 2 submenu. Press the or button to select GamePlus. Then press the button to confirm the selection. Press the button to exit the OSD menu. Press one of the control buttons, and then press the button to select GamePlus.

Chapter 2: Setup 2.1 Detaching the Base (for VESA Wall Mount) To detach the base, perform the following: 1. Disconnect power and signal cables. Carefully place the monitor on the EPS foam, with the screen facing down. 2. Remove the stand cover. 3. Use the L-shaped screwdriver to remove the four screws. Then remove the stand assembly. 4. Remove the four rubber pads. Then align and install the wall mount bracket on the rear of the monitor.
2.2 Adjusting the Monitor • For optimal viewing, we recommend that you look at the full face of the monitor, then adjust the monitor to the angle that is most comfortable for you. • Hold the stand to prevent the monitor from falling while changing its angle. You can adjust the monitor’s angle from -3° to 20°.

• • • 2. In the Standard Mode, the Saturation, Skin Tone, Sharpness, and ASCR functions are not user-configurable. In the sRGB, the Saturation, Color Temp., SkinTone, Sharpness, Brightness, Contrast, and ASCR functions are not user-configurable. In the Reading Mode, the Saturation, SkinTone, ASCR, Contrast, and Color Temp. functions are not user-configurable. Eye Care In this function, you can adjust settings to better protect your eyes.
• • • • • • • Users should take some time away from the display if working for long hours: It is advised to take short breaks (at least 5 mins) after around 1 hour of continuous working at the computer. Taking short and frequent breaks is more effective than a single longer break. To minimize eye strain and dryness in your eyes, users should rest the eye periodically by focusing on objects that are far away. Eye exercises can help to reduce eye strain. Repeat these exercises often.

The adjusting range is from 0 to 100. • Saturation: Adjust the saturation level. The adjusting range is from 0 to 100.
4. Image You can adjust the image Sharpness, Trace Free, Aspect Control, VividPixel, ASCR, Motion Sync, AMD FreeSync, Shadow Boost, Position, Focus, and Auto Adjust. from this main function.
• Trace Free: Speed up the response time by Over Drive technology. The adjusting range is from lower 0 to faster 100. • Aspect Control: Adjust the aspect ratio to “Full”, “4:3”, or “OverScan”. • • • VividPixel: ASUS Exclusive Technology that brings lifelike visuals for crystal-clear and detail-oriented enjoyment. The adjusting range is from 0~100. • ASCR: Select ON or OFF to enable or disable dynamic contrast ratio function. • Motion Sync: Offer a more clear mode while displaying motion pictures.
