System 25 Initial Implementation
Administering Phantom Extensions
Private Fax Numbers and other special purpose extensions are administered as
phantom extensions, that is, the extension is assigned a dial plan number, but there
is no corresponding physical station. For example, a phantom extension can be
assigned on the third carrier even if there is no third carrier. Private fax numbers
should also have an outside line (either DID or personal line) terminated on the
extension.
