A Synapse device upgrade failed, the WebUI displays “Login to target device failed”, and the
WebUI and device screens display the old software version.
Probable Cause Corrective Action
The software version of the
device you are currently
logged into is no longer
compatible with the software
version of other devices
within the network.
1. Log on to the WebUI as administrator using the
IP address of a device that does not have updated
software and is not having any problems. Click
Device Management, then Update Device.
2. Select a device from the Update Device
drop-down list. Do not select the device whose IP
address you are using.
3. Click . The selected device
updates its software and reboots.
4. After the device reboots, check the software
version number on the device to confirm that the
upgrade was successful.
On the Deskset, press MENU –> 4. Note the
P Firmware Ver [030/031] or Software
Ver [020/025] value.
On the Gateway or ATA, press the key
to access the Main Menu. Then select
Device Information, then SW Ver.
5. After updating all other devices, upgrade the
device whose IP address you are using.
