Getting Started Phone Setup Installing the micro-SIM Card and Battery Power off your phone before installing or replacing the battery or micro-SIM card. Remove the back cover as shown. Press the black spot and insert the micro-SIM card into the card slot with the cut corner oriented as shown. Insert the microSDHC (sold separately) with the gold-colored contacts facing down. Carefully insert the battery with the contacts located against the metal springs.
Charging the Battery Note: For best performance, charge the battery fully prior to using the phone for the first time. Insert the charger’s connector into the charging port. Be sure to insert the connector in the correct orientation. Do not force the connector into the port. Plug the charger into a standard AC wall outlet. When the battery is fully charged, unplug the charger and disconnect it from the phone.
Waking Up Your Phone Press the Power Key to activate your screen display. Tap and hold a blank area of the screen to unlock it. Note: If you have set an unlock pattern, PIN, or password for your phone (see Phone Settings – Security) you’ll need to draw the pattern or enter the PIN/password to unlock your screen. Getting Around Touch Control Use the touchscreen to control your phone. The controls on your touchscreen change dynamically depending on the tasks you’re performing.

Press to switch your phone to Sleep Mode. Press to wake up your phone. Press to return to the main home screen from any application or screen. Press and hold to access Google Now. Press to see the options for the current screen. Press and hold to see recently used applications. Press to go to the previous screen.
Tap Gallery, Live, Photos, or Wallpapers and choose the image or animation you want to use as the wallpaper. Some cropping may be needed for Gallery images. Tap Set Wallpaper. Note: Live wallpapers and Photos are not available for the lock screen. Adding Items to Your Home Screen Tap and hold a blank part of the home screen and tap Widgets or Apps. Tap and hold the icon of the item you wish to add and then drag it to a home screen thumbnail at the bottom of the screen.

Phone Calls Calling from Your Call History How to Make Calls There are many ways to make a call with your phone, and they’re all easy to do. Calling from a Text Message If a text message contains a phone number that you want to call, you can make the call while viewing the text message. From the home screen, tap . Tap the conversation and then the message that contains the phone number you need. Tap the number. Tap Call. Calling from the Dialer From the home screen, tap .
Putting a Call on Hold During a call, you can put it on hold by tapping More Hold. Tip: If you accept an incoming call while you’re on another call, the first call automatically goes on hold. Tap More Swap to switch between the two callers. Turning the Speakerphone On/Off Tap Speaker during a call to turn the speakerphone on. Tap Speaker again to turn off the speakerphone. Adding a Call During a call, tap More Add call and dial a number.
Contacts Adjusting Your Call Settings (continued) Hearing aids DTMF tones Speed dial Call Barring Settings Turn on/off hearing aid compatibility. When you turn on the hearing aid compatibility and use a hearing aid with a Telecoil to answer the phone, it will help you hear more clearly during the phone call. Set the length of dual-tone multi-frequency (DTMF) signal tones: Normal or Long. Set speed dialing keys. Forbid certain types of calls. Forward your incoming calls to a different number.
Importing Contacts from microSDHC card or Exporting to microSDHC card From the Contacts screen, press Import/Export. Choose to import or export contacts. If you have more than one account set up on your phone, you will need to select the account to which you’d like to import contacts. Note: Files will be saved to/pulled from the microSDHC card when one is inserted in the phone. • For import, you should have vCard files saved on the microSDHC card.
Entering Text When you tap a field that needs text or numbers, a keyboard automatically appears on the screen. Open the Notifications panel and tap Choose input method to change input method. Google Keyboard The Google keyboard provides a layout similar to a desktop computer keyboard. Turn the phone sideways and the keyboard will change from portrait to landscape. To use the landscape keyboard, from the home screen, press System settings Display Auto-rotate screen.
On a screen with a TouchPal X keyboard, tap keyboard T26, T12, or T+. , choose the •T ap to hide the on-screen keyboard. You can tap the text field again to show the keyboard. The T12 Layout The T26 Layout •T ap the alphabetic keys to enter letters. • Tap to use uppercase or lowercase letters. Double tap to lock the keyboard in uppercase. This key also changes to indicate the current case you are using: for lowercase, for uppercase, and when locked in uppercase.
To Enable and Use TouchPal X Curve On the TouchPal X keyboard screen, tap and check the box next to Curve®. Move your finger from letter to letter on the keyboard to trace a word without lifting the finger until you reach the end of the word. Note: TouchPal X Curve is only available in the T26 layout. Start of the word End of the word Messaging Your SMS (text message) and MMS (multimedia message) are combined into one menu under .
Changing Message Settings The phone’s message settings are pre-configured for you to use immediately. To change them, press Settings from the Messaging screen. SMS Enabled: Change your default SMS app from Messaging to Hangouts. Storage settings: • Delete old messages: Delete old messages as limits are reached. •T ext message limit: Set the maximum number of text messages allowed in a single thread. •M ultimedia message limit: Set the maximum number of multimedia messages allowed in a single thread.
Email Composing and Sending an Email With the Email application, you can access your email from various providers, including Yahoo!® and Gmail. Creating an Email Account From the home screen, tap and select an email account type. Enter your email address and password. Tap Next to let the phone retrieve the network parameters automatically. Note: You can also enter these details manually by tapping Manual setup or when automatic setup fails. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish the setup.
Tap OK to confirm. All email messages in the account will be deleted. Email Settings General settings apply to all email accounts you add. From your inbox, press Settings General. Make the changes you want and press when you’re finished. Connecting to the Internet Your phone’s impressive networking capabilities allow you to access the Internet or your corporate network with ease. You can use default connection settings to connect to the web via your mobile network (GPRS/EDGE/3G/4G) or Wi-Fi.
Connecting to a Wi-Fi Network From the home screen, press System settings Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi network points, or “hotspots,” that your phone has detected are displayed with their names and security settings. Tap a network to connect to it. If security features are implemented, you’ll need to enter a password and then tap Connect. To disconnect from a network, tap the network name and then tap Forget.
•F ollow a link: Tap a link on the web page to open it. •S ave the page for offline reading: Press Save for offline reading. To read saved pages, press Bookmarks SAVED PAGES. Opening Another Browser Window You can have multiple windows open in the browser. While in the browser, tap to open a new window. To view your open windows, tap . Tap on a window to close it. Using Bookmarks To bookmark a web page, open it and tap , or press and then tap Save to bookmarks. Give the bookmark a name and tap OK.
Bluetooth Bluetooth is a short-range wireless communication technology. Phones or other devices with Bluetooth capabilities can exchange information wirelessly within a distance of about 32 feet (10 meters). The Bluetooth devices must be paired before the communication is performed. •T o allow compatible Bluetooth devices to find your phone for pairing, tap Z667 on the Bluetooth settings screen. Your device will be visible for 2 minutes.
Entertainment Sharing a Picture Taking Pictures with Your Camera Your phone has a 2-megapixel camera. From the home screen, tap . Zoom in or out by spreading/pinching two fingers or pressing either Volume Key. To change shot modes, tap and select an option. Tap to take a picture. To view it, tap the picture thumbnail in the corner of the screen. Adjusting Camera Settings Before taking a photo, you can tap camera settings.
Number 4 5 Function Rotate the photo, view details, rename the photo, or access slideshow settings. Browse the album contents in a slideshow. Shooting Video with Your Camcorder From the home screen, tap . Zoom in or out by spreading/pinching two fingers or pressing either volume key. Tap to begin recording and to stop. Tap the video thumbnail in the corner of the screen to view the video you’ve just taken. Tip: Take a photo while recording by tapping .
Sharing a Video After recording a video, tap the thumbnail in the corner of the screen and then tap . Scroll through options to send via MMS messaging or Gmail, Picasa, and more. 1 7 2 6 3 5 Playing Your Videos From the home screen, tap Video Player. This will open your video library and show the video files saved in your memory card. Tap a video file to start playing. Number 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 42 4 Function Video name. Rotate the video. Crop or fit the video to the screen.
Playing Your Music You can play the audio files stored in your phone’s microSDHC card in Music. From the home screen, tap Music to access the music player. Select Songs/Playlists/Folders/ Albums/Artists/Genres to find the songs you want to play. Tap an item from the list to start playing. Adjust the volume with the Volume Keys. Creating Playlists 1 6 Playlists help you organize your music files. Tap next to the song in the music library. Tap Add to playlist. Tap New.
Making Memorable Memos Sound Recorder enables you to record your voice memos. From the home screen, tap Sound Recorder. Tap to start recording. Tap to stop recording or tap OK to cancel recording. Tap to play the memo. Tip: You can find your recordings by tapping My recordings. Play Any Saved Memo From the home screen, tap Sound Recorder. Tap My recordings. Tap the title of a memo to play it.
Kingsoft Office Create, view, and edit Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets, and other types of files. From the home screen, tap Kingsoft Office. Tip: Tap and scroll to view options. Note From the home screen, tap Note to save and view your text notes. Tap a note type. Tap to create a new note. Enter your text and tap Save to save it. Tap a note to view it. You can also edit, delete, share, or export it.
Google Applications Gmail Signing in to your Google account lets you synchronize Gmail, Calendar, and Contacts between your phone and the web. If you don’t have an account, you can easily create one. Tap a Google application that needs a Google account, such as Gmail or Google+. If you’ve got a Google account, tap Existing. Enter your user name and password and then tap . (Or tap New if you don’t have a Google account.) Read the instructions and tap OK. Set the backup and restore option and tap .
Google Play Store Google Play Store gives you access to thousands of free and paid apps, games, books and magazines, music, and movies. From the home screen, tap Play Store. Navigating Google Play Store From Play Store, you will have multiple ways to search for apps, games and more. Tap a category to browse popular apps, games, movies, books, and music organized by popularity or category. Tap to search the Play Store for a specific item, such as a game or app.
Google Music You can access up to 20,000 songs from your music collection by storing them in the cloud. You can also purchase music through Google Play with this app. From the home screen, tap the Google folder Play Music to access Google Music. The app searches your online library and your phone for music and playlists before displaying your combined music library, organized by GENRES, ARTISTS, ALBUMS, and SONGS. You can tap My Library to view your library or tap Playlists to view existing playlists.
Phone Settings Mobile Network Services From the home screen, press System settings Mobile networks to enable or disable data service, allow data services when roaming, or set access point names for data access. Note: Data roaming may incur significant roaming charges. Sound Settings From the home screen, press System settings Sound to adjust volumes, toggle sound and mute, set up ringtone and notification sound, and select system sounds.
Managing Applications From the home screen, press System settings Apps to see apps installed on your phone and manage them. Tap an app in the Downloaded, On SD Card, Running, or All tabs to see its information. You can stop the app, uninstall the app, clear data and cache, or move the app between the internal storage and the memory card. Note: Not all applications can be moved or uninstalled.
Protecting Your Phone with a PIN or Password Creating a PIN or Password From the home screen, press System settings Security Screen lock. Tap PIN or Password. Enter a numeric PIN or any password you like, and tap Continue. Enter it again and tap OK to confirm. Unlocking the Screen with Your PIN or Password Press the Power Key to wake up the phone. Enter the PIN or password you set. Tap OK. Cannot Recall Your PIN or Password? You have up to five attempts to unlock your phone.
Managing Other Settings Search Settings From the home screen, tap Settings. You can set searchable items. the Google folder Google Voice Interaction From the home screen, press System settings Language & input Voice Search or Text-to-speech output to set text-to-speech and voice recognition options. Accessibility From the home screen, press System settings Accessibility to configure options for accessibility-related applications.

RF Exposure Information (SAR) This phone is designed and manufactured not to exceed the emission limits for exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy set by the Federal Communications Commission of the United States, Industry Canada of Canada.
Hearing Aid Compatibility (HAC) Regulations for Mobile Phones In 2003, the FCC adopted rules to make digital wireless telephones compatible with hearing aids and cochlear implants. Although analog wireless phones do not usually cause interference with hearing aids or cochlear implants, digital wireless phones sometimes do because of electromagnetic energy emitted by the phone’s antenna, backlight, or other components. Your phone is compliant with FCC HAC regulations (ANSI C63.19- 2011).

• Do not expose your phone or its accessories to liquid, moisture, or high humidity. • Do not drop, throw, or try to bend your phone or its accessories. • Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or aerosols to clean the device or its accessories. • Do not paint your phone or its accessories. • Do not attempt to disassemble your phone or its accessories. Only authorized personnel can do so.
Seizures/Blackouts Phone Heating The phone can produce a bright or flashing light. A small percentage of people may be susceptible to blackouts or seizures (even if they have never had one before) when exposed to flashing lights or light patterns such as when playing games or watching video. If you have experienced seizures or blackouts or have a family history of such occurrences, please consult a physician. Your phone may become warm during charging and during normal use.
Pacemakers Aircraft Pacemaker manufacturers recommend that a minimum separation of 6 inches (15 cm) be maintained between a mobile phone and a pacemaker to avoid potential interference with the pacemaker. To achieve this, use the phone on the opposite ear to your pacemaker and do not carry it in a breast pocket. Switch off your wireless device whenever you are instructed to do so by airport or airline staff. Consult the airline staff about the use of wireless devices on board the aircraft.
