Operation Manual

first use of icemaker and ice dispenser (continued)
Ensure that the ice is distributed evenly in the ice
container. The icemaker can then fill the container
to maximum capacity.
Cubes which fall into the ice container will pile up,
causing the icemaker's sensor to be set to the
setting prematurely. In this case, the container
is nowhere near full.
Open the door and spread the ice cubes in the
ice container evenly by hand.
In the case of models with a water dispenser, when
you first use the appliance throw away the first six
glasses of water. The water supply may cause the
first glasses of water to have a slightly plastic taste.
Select:
water;
ice cubes;
crushed ice
Press the top of a glass against the switch in
the dispenser. Hold the glass as high as
possible under the discharge opening.
ice dispensing
After choosing (ice cubes), it may happen that
the dispenser gives crushed ice; this is caused by
an ice cube falling into the crushed-ice maker.

After the appliance has been connected to the
water supply, the ice mould fills with water
automatically as soon as the freezing temperature
has been reached. After a few hours, the first
frozen ice cubes are ready. Upon first use or after
the fridge/freezer combination has been
reconnected to the water supply, air will come out
of the discharge opening for some time.
Keep the switch of the dispenser depressed for
at least two minutes, until all the air has escaped
f rom the water pipe and the water comes out of
the discharge opening in a continuous stre a m .
N.B.
In the case of a new fridge/freezer combination, it
takes about 24 hours before the freezer section
reaches the right temperature.
warning
Under certain circumstances, ice cubes may be
discoloured, appearing a greenish-blue colour. The
discolouration may be caused by deposits in, or
pollution of, the water supply line. The ice cubes
are unsuitable for consumption and may have a
negative effect on your health. Dispose of the
discoloured ice cubes and contact your dealer.
When you first use the icemaker and ice dispenser,
throw away the first 16 or 24 ice cubes. These ice
cubes may be polluted by impurities in the water
supply. Also throw away the first 16 or 24 ice cubes
after ice has not been used for extended periods,
such as during holidays. These ice cubes may have
a funny taste.
Depress the switch until
a continuous stream of
water is obtained.
