Quick Start Congratulations on your purchase of this Data/Fax modem. This modem features the latest innovations in high-speed modem design, making electronic communication faster and easier. This Quick Start guide will show you how to install and properly use the modem in order to take full advantage of its features. 1 Package Contents Carefully unpack and remove the contents.
2 Card Layout 3 Installing the Modem This internal modem is easy to install. please follow the instructions below. To install the modem: 1. Turn off the system and unplug your system from the power supply. 2. Remove the system cover. Refer to your housing manual for instructions. 3. Locate an empty PCI slot on the system board.
4. Check your modem card model. 5. Plug the telephone cable into the LINE jack located at the front of the bracket. Plug the other end of the telephone cable into a telephone line jack. 6. To connect a telephone to the modem: a. Plug the telephone to the modem PHONE jack. b. Lift the handset and listen for a dial tone to check for a working connection. 7. Turn your computer on. If your O.S is not Windows 9X/ME/2K/NT/XP, please read the guide.doc in Application Software CD.
3. In the new dialog box, you have two choices to install a driver. The default choice is search for the best driver for your device and click Avanti.
4. New Add New Hardware Wizard dialog box will display on the screen. Insert the Driver CD into the CD-ROM driver. 5. Choose Specify a location to browse for driver folder, and click Browse, choose the CD-ROM location (Ex: D:\Driver\win9X).
6. Windows 98 will copy the files onto your hard disk. Click Fine.
5 Setting Up Your Modem for Windows ME 1. Turn on your computer. As the Windows ME operating system boots up, it displays Add New Hardware Wizard dialog box shown on your screen for a few seconds with the identifier name (PCI Communication Device) of your modem. 2. Choose Specify the location of the driver. Click Avanti. 3. Add New Hardware Wizard dialog box will display on screen. Choose Browse for driver folder (Ex: D:\Driver\WinMe). Click Avanti.
4. Windows ME will copy the files onto your hard disk, click Fine.
5. It displays Add New Hardware Wizard dialog box shown on your screen for a few seconds with the identifier name (Modem Device) of your modem. 6. Choose Specify the location of the driver. Click Avanti. 7. Add New Hardware Wizard dialog box will display on screen. Choose Browse for driver folder (Ex: D:\Driver\WinMe). Click Avanti.
8. Windows ME will copy the files onto your hard disk, click Fine.
6 Setting Up Your Modem for Windows 2000 1. Turn on your computer. As the Windows 2000 operating system boots up, it displays a Found New Hardware Wizard dialog box shown on your screen. 2. Click Avanti, then a new dialog box will show on the screen. 3. In the new dialog box, you have two choices to install a driver. The default choice is search for the best driver for your device and click Avanti.
4. Choose Specify a location, then click Avanti.
5. Insert the driver CD into the CD-ROM device. Click Browser and choose the CD-ROM Location (Ex: D\Driver\Win2000).Windows 2000 will copy the files onto your hard disk. Click Continua and after Fine.
7 Setting Up Your Modem for Windows NT 1. Turn on your computer. As the Windows NT operating system boots up, and choose Driver CD (Ex: D:\Driver\NT4\installer.exe). Double click installer icon. 2. It displays Modem Board Installation Wizard dialog box shown on your screen, and click SI. 3. Window NT4.0 will copy the files onto your hard disk. Click OK.
8 Setting Up Your Modem for Windows XP 1. Turn on your computer. As the Windows XP operating system boots up, it displays a Found New Hardware Wizard dialog box shown on your screen. 2. In the new dialog box, you have two choices to install a driver. Choose The Install from a list or specific location (Advanced) Then click Avanti.. 3. Choose Lnclude this location in the search . 4. Insert the driver CD into the CD-ROM device. Click Browser and choose the CD-ROM Location (Ex: D\Driver\WinXP).
5. Windows XP will copy the files onto your hard disk. Click Continua and after Fine.
