SMART Thermostat Function
Thisfunctionadjuststheflameintensityaccordingtothe
difference in the Set Point temperature and the actual
room temperature. As the room temperature gets closer
to the Set Point, the Smart Function will modulate flame
intensity down.
Toactivatethisfunction,presstheThermostatKey
untiltheword“SMART”appearstotherightofthe
thermometer bulb icon. Fig. 7.12.

KeysuntilthedesiredSetTemperatureisdisplayed.Fig.7.13.
Fan Control
Thefanspeedcanbeadjustedthroughsixsettings.To
activatethisfunction,presstheModeKey(Fig.7.2)to
indextotheFanControlicon.Seefig.7.14.Thefanwill
not function at all if it is not first set to ON.
UsetheUp/DownArrowKeystoturnON,OFF,orad-
justthefanspeed.Fig.7.15.Asingle“beep”willconfirm
reception of the command. After a 5 minute interval,
the fan will power up to its highest speed and then
modulate down to the established fan speed setting.
The fan will continue to operate for 12 minutes after
the burner is turned off. Manual speed control is not
availablewhentheSMARTThermostatisON.

Child Safety Lock
This function will lockout the Transmitter to prevent
unsupervised operation.
ToactivatetheLock,presstheModekeyandUPKeyat
the same time. Fig. 7.18.
Tode-activatetheLock,presstheModeKeyandUPKey
at the same time.
LowBatteryDetection
The life-span of the batteries depends on various factors;
battery quality, the frequency of ignition calls, the
frequency of changes to Set Points, etc.
When Transmitter batteries are low, the Battery icon will
be displayed before all battery power is lost. The icon
will disappear when new batteries are installed. Fig. 7.19.
WhenReceiverbatteriesarelow,no“beep”willbe
emittedfromtheReceiverwhenitreceivesanOn/Off
command from the Transmitter. This is an alert for a
lowbatteryconditionintheReceiver.Whenthebat-
teriesarereplaced,the“beep”willbeemittedfromthe
ReceiverwhentheON/OFFKeyispressed.SeeBattery
ReplacementundertheMaintenancesectionofthis
manual.
ManualBy-PassoftheRemoteSystem
When battery power is low or depleted, the burner can
stillbeoperatedmanuallybyslidingtheReceiverswitch
to the ON position. It will immediately ignite in the
Highposition.Inmanualmode,theunithasa24hour
operatingcycle.Itwillautomaticallyshutdownafter24
hours of operation and then require a manual restart.
In the event of a power failure, fan and lamp functions
will be unavailable. Battery back-up will allow flame
modulation and thermostatic control. It is therefore
advisable to keep a supply of good quality batteries on
hand.
