HP Continuous Access provides disaster tolerant replication across a Fibre Channel SAN. Continuous
Access EVA performs real-time replication between HP Enterprise Virtual Arrays of the current and earlier
generations. Continuous Access EVA provides the highest level of FC SAN data protection to customers,
in order to meet disaster tolerant business continuity implementation goals. Through the use of
MAN/WAN Fibre Channel SAN extensions, Continuous Access EVA provides 24x7 protections against
disaster like scenarios, in campus, metro or continental networks. Thus, enabling business protection
against unforeseen events.
HP Disaster Tolerant Solution for mySAP Business Suite on EVA offers a business continuance solution for
SAP environments, where data integrity and value added functionality are high priorities. Information on
implementing remote mirroring of an SAP database as part of an overall data protection strategy with
SAP applications can be found at:

The HP IP Distance Gateway provides SAN over WAN connectivity for protecting and replicating data
between EVA systems. By connecting islands of SANs over WANs, the IP Distance Gateway enables CA
replication (Asynchronous and Synchronous), SAN device sharing, data migration and other long
distance data services. At the core of providing long distance data services is the ability to copy, move
and replicate data locally and over long distances. However, SANs have limited distance capabilities
(10km) and IT managers need to share, protect and move data over greater distances than 10km,
routers and switches that link SANs over IP WANs is the weapon of choice for most IT managers. The IP
Distance Gateway uses the FCIP (Fibre Channel Internet Protocol) standard to extend SAN connectivity
over the WAN.
