comprising dynamic cornering lights, static cornering
lights and continuous headlight range control; the dy-
namic cornering lights use steering wheel movements to
detect the course of the road and illuminate bends more
effectively at speeds ranging from approx. 10 to 110
km/h by swivelling the xenon headlights as required.
The static cornering lights automatically come on when
the turn signal is activated for a certain length of time at
low speeds, casting light in the new direction of travel.
A camera on the interior mirror detects light sources
from other road users for the continuous headlight
range control system. In this way, the range and width
of the headlight beams can be continuously adjusted to
the surroundings between dipped and high beam so that
they provide good visibility without dazzling other road
users. In addition to that, three different headlight dis-
tribution profiles are available that are activated de-
pending on the vehicle’s speed: urban light, motorway
light and extra-urban light. Audi connect furthermore
enables the navigation-data-based vehicle assistant to
switch between these three light distribution profiles
with the help of the route data stored in the optional
MMI navigation plus with MMI touch. The junction light
with wide front illumination and the travel mode with
GPS-aided changeover between right-hand and left-hand
traffic round off the lighting assistant’s convenience
functions
LED headlights
with LED technology for dipped beam, main beam, day-
time running lights, turn signals, static cornering lights,
all-weather lights and motorway light function; includ-
ing high-beam assist for switching automatically be-
tween high beam and dipped beam; all-weather lights
function for reducing glare when visibility is poor (fog,
rain or snowfall) and additional motorway light with au-
tomatic increase in headlight range above a speed of ap-
prox. 110 km/h; LED technology enables the road to be
illuminated with a brightness similar to that of daylight
for increased safety and comfort; minimum energy con-
sumption, long service life and can be seen particularly
well by other road users
High-beam assist
part of the LED headlights; automatically detects the
headlights of oncoming traffic, the rear lights of other
road users as well as built-up areas, within the system
limits. Depending on the traffic situation, the high-
beam headlights are automatically switched on or off
LED rear lights
the LED technology used for the brake lights, taillights
and turn signals allows them to be activated faster,
meaning they are noticed sooner by traffic following
behind; reversing lights in white, 2 rear fog lights; high-
level 3rd brake light in the rear window; with mainte-
nance-free, energy-saving LED rear number plate light
Adaptive brake lights
brake lights flash in the event of emergency braking to
alert the drivers travelling behind, automatic activation
of the hazard warning lights when the vehicle comes to
a stop, plus activation of the hazard warning lights as a
function of the braking power
Light/rain sensor
automatically turns dipped-beam headlights or wind-
screen wipers on/off depending on the light conditions
or precipitation; includes delayed switch-off/automatic
switch-on of rear and number plate lights when vehicle
is parked/unlocked
Interior and exterior lighting package
exterior: courtesy lighting under the door handles and
illumination of handle recess using LED technology to
facilitate getting in and out of the car in the dark; is
activated automatically when the doors are unlocked;

Ambient lighting
in addition to the interior and exterior lighting package,
glare-free illumination of the interior using LED technol-
ogy. Two reading lamps front and rear, lighting for door
pockets, footwells and inside door handles, reflected
lighting for centre console and door inner panels for
improved orientation, including integrated spectacles
compartment in the roof module. Surround lighting for
centre console (floating effect), active door reflectors,
with illuminated door sill trim strips. Can be configured
via the MMI
