Audi connect
Networked mobility. The term Audi connect brackets to-
gether all applications and developments that connect
up present-day and future Audi models with the inter-
net, the owner and the infrastructure. Audi connect
creates infotainment and entertainment functions and
takes comfort and automotive enjoyment to a new level.
A UMTS module integrated online into the Bluetooth car
phone, in conjunction with the customer’s SIM card in
the vehicle, enables online information (such as naviga-
tion with POI search, Google Earth and Street View im-
ages, weather, news, Audi traffic information online¹
,
²,
Internet access³) to be transmitted directly to the Audi
S6, where it is integrated into the vehicle. The optional
Audi MMI navigation plus with MMI touch facilitates
the use of these Audi connect services. A WiFi hotspot
makes it possible to access the internet from the rear
while on the move and from anywhere in the vehicle
when stationary using a portable end device.
Audi connect services are only available for mobile phone
contracts including a data option and only within the
mobile phone networks’ range of coverage. Depending
on your mobile phone tariff, and particularly when used
abroad, additional costs may be incurred for receiving
data packages from the internet: due to the high volume
of data involved, a contract with a flat rate for data is
strongly recommended. Your mobile phone provider will
be able to give you more detailed information. Audi con-
nect is available in all the countries of Europe with the
exception of Turkey, Malta, Cyprus and Iceland; in Russia,
only in the Moscow and St. Petersburg areas.
A separate mobile phone contract may have to be pur-
chased in order to use the Audi connect services and the
WiFi hotspot. Your mobile phone provider will be able
to give you more detailed information. Your Audi partner
will inform you about the availability of the individual
Audi connect services in your vehicle. On request, you
can have your Audi factory fitted with a WiFi hotspot for
wireless internet access. The inclusion of a WiFi hotspot
is optional and only available to order in conjunction
with MMI navigation plus with MMI touch. Simple to
operate via MMI navigation plus with MMI touch, a mul-
tifunction steering wheel or the voice control system.
The WiFi hotspot is installed if you order a Bluetooth car
phone online.
MMI® navigation plus with MMI® touch
including navigation data (hard drive), high-resolution
8-inch TFT screen with high-quality map display and top-
ographical map colouring, display of many places of in-
terest and city models in 3D, choice of 3 alternative
routes according to route settings (fast/short/economi-
cal), scrolling along the route and manoeuvring within
the map, spoken TMCpro reports, split-screen route in-
formation (manoeuvring points, points of interest on
motorways, TMCpro on route), detailed junction map,
motorway exits and lane recommendations also in driv-
er information system, dynamic route guidance with
TMCpro (where available), vehicle assistant and speed
limit display based on navigation data, destinations can
also be entered via the voice control system (whole-
word entry of address in one sentence) or the MMI
touch; including MMI radio plus, driver information sys-
tem with 7-inch colour display and MP3, WMA, AAC and
MPEG-4-compatible DVD player; hard drive can also be
used to store music (20 GB). In conjunction with Blue-
tooth car phone online, it is possible to use Audi connect
services (e.g. navigation with Google Earth and Street
View images, weather and news, Audi travel information
online)
