With the standard Audi drive select you can
influence individual vehicle components at the
push of a button. Generally speaking, the
accelerator pedal characteristic curve, exhaust
flap control, gear mode and steering torque of
the electro mechanical power steering can be
configured. You have three modes available to
adapt these components to the individual driving
situation. Auto mode is the setting that defines
the sporty supremacy of the Audi RS 4 Avant.
Comfort mode is particularly suitable for long
drives, whereas dynamic mode has been designed
for ambitious driving. In conjunction with the
optional MMI navigation system, you also have the
individual mode available, which you can use to
configure the individual components yourself.
In addition, various optional systems can be
influenced. For example, the RS sport suspension
plus with Dynamic Ride Control (DRC) – the
characteristic curves of the shock absorbers can
be varied in three stages: from gentle rolling
in comfort mode through to a sporty-direct
reaction in the dynamic position.
The optional dynamic steering allows the steering
ratio and support to be changed depending on
driving speed and the Audi drive select mode
selected.
In conjunction with the equipment version
quattro with sport differential, an additional
infinitely variable distribution of the drive force
between the rear wheels takes place, not only
during acceleration but also during overrun or
coasting. This torque manipulation specifically
influences the vehicle’s steering behaviour and
increases agility even further, depending on the
selected Audi drive select setting made.
The way the adaptive cruise control reacts to
acceleration behaviour or to the vehicle in front
can also be set to be either more gradual or
more spontaneous.
