Volume settings and silencing (mute) The volume knob on the front panel and the Vol+/Vol- buttons on the remote controller change the general sound level. It means that the volume of the two channels is altered identically. The mute button on the remote controller allows you to set the music level to zero. This function is useful any time you have to suddenly turn down the volume, such as when you have a phone call, when you are talking or when you are changing the CD in the player.
Note on Pre/Mono Output When you are using the Verdi Cento Pre/Mono Output to drive a power amplifier or a subwoofer, be careful when you turn the system on and off to avoid any noise or bump in the speakers. When you turn on the system, turn on the Verdi Cento first and then turn on the equipment connected to the Pre/Mono Output.
Other features The Verdi Cento Integrated Amplifier has other interesting new functionalities that permits you to set different parameters of the product. The functions are: • • • • Balance regulation. Bypass mode. Volume scale selection. Thermal Shutdown. Some functions are managed by switches on the remote that behave differently on the base of the function involved.
• Obviously it is impossible to select the Phono Input as the Bypass Input for the bypass mode. This is why its input led never turns on during the bypass mode setting procedure.
Thermal shutdown The Verdi Cento is an extremely reliable product and a lot of protective systems have been built into in it. In addition to the traditional protection against current overload and short-circuit the Verdi cento has two different kinds of overheating protection on the power stages and a specific heat protection placed into the toroidal transformer.
