Although th is product was designed to be used safely, failing to use it correctly may
r esult in an accident. To ensure safety, observe all warnings and cautions while us i ng
the product.
Cautions for the headphones
• Do not use t he produc t near medica l equi pme nt. Radio waves may affect cardiac
pacemakers and medical electronic eq uipment. Do not use the product i ns i de
medical facilities.
• Whe n using the product in aircraft, follow airline instruct ion s.
• Do not use the produc t near automatic control devices such as auto m atic doors and
fi re alarms . Rad io waves may affec t electronic equipment and cause accidents due
to ma l function.
• Do not disassemble. modify or attemp t to repai r the prod u ct to avo id electric shock.

• Follow applicable laws regarding mobil~ phone and headphone use if us i ng

• Do not use the product in places where t he inabil i ty to hear amb i ent sound presen ts a
serious r isk (such as at r ailroad crossings. trai n st ations, and construc t ion si tes).
• The product effective ly shields external sound, so you may not hear sound around
you clearly while wearing the product. Adjust the volume to a leve l where you can
still hear background sound and moni t or the area around you whi le li sten i ng to
music .
• Store the product out of t he r each of sma ll ch ildren .
• To prevent damage to yo ur hear i ng, do not ra i se the volume too h igh. Listening to
lou d sound for an extende d period may cause temporary or permanent hearing loss.
• Discontinue use if skin irritation results from direct contact with the product.
• If you begin to feel unwell while using th e product, discontinue use imm e diately.
• When removing the product from your ears, check to make sure the eartips are still
attached to the main unit. If the eartips become lodged in your ears and you are
u nable to remove them, cons ult a physician at once .
• If you develop an it ch from wearing the product discontinue use .
Cautions for charging case

• Do not use benzine , paint thi nners and electrica l con t ac t cleaner, etc. because use
of such material could cause deformation or ma l func t ion .
Cautions for rechargeable battery
T he headphones ar e equipped wi th a recha rge able battel'( !lithi um ion battery).
T he charging case is equipped with a recha r geable battery (lith i um polyme r ba tt ery )
• If battery fluid gets into eyes. do no t rub them . Rinse t horoughly with clean wate
such as t ap wate r and consult a doc t or im mediate l y.
• If battery fluid l eaks, do not touch fl uid with bare hands . If fluid remains inside t~
product. it may cause malfu n ction. If b attery f luid l eaks, contact your l ocal Audi o-
T echnica dealer.
- If fluid ge ts in your mo u th, ga r gle thoroughly wi th clean water such as ta p
wate r and consult a d oc tor immediately .
- If your skin or clothing comes in contact wi th f luid, i mmed i ately was h the affec t ed
skin or clothing with wa t er. If you experience sk in irritation. consu lt a doctor.

- Never heat, disassemble or modify the battery, no r dis pose of it in a fi re .

- Do not drop the produc t or subject it to strong impact.

The battery may have reached the end of its service life if the usage t ime b eco mE
sig n ificantly shorter even after the battery has been ful ly charged . If t hi s is the
case, the batter( needs to be repa ir ed . Contact your loca l Aud i o-Technica dea ler
repair details .
• When the pr oduct is dispose d of, the b uil t- in rechargeab le battery needs to be
di scarded prope r ly . Contac t your lo c al Audio -T echn i ca dealer to l earn how to

■ About the active noise-cancelling function --
The product is designed to use its b uilt- in microphone to pick up noise f rom the
su rround i ng environment (noise f rom vehic l es, noi se from air con ditio ne rs, etc .) and to
cancel out that no i se by producing sounds iri negat iv e pha se. This r esu l ts in a
reduction in t he sounds in your env i ronment .
• The prod uc t's no i se-cancelling f unct i on ma i nl y re duces noises of 300 Hz or low er .
Because of this. it has almost no effec t oo noises above t hat frequency (r i ngtones,
speak ing vo i ces, etc.).
• Not all sounds are ca n ce ll ed.
• Depend i ng on the type of no i se (or in quie t l ocat i ons). you may not not i ce the no i se-
cance lli ng ef fect.
• The noise-cancel l ing effect may vary or a bl ee p (h o wl i ng) may oc c ur depe n di ng on
h ow you wear the product. In these cas es. take off t he produc t and p ut t he p roduct
in your ears again c orrec tl y.
• When you use the product in a train or a vehic le suc h as bus or truck. no i se may be
hea rd depend i ng on r ail / street co nditio ns .

• Although the produ ct has water-resi s ta nt (dr i p-pro o f) capabilities eq u iva lent to
IPX2, the part where the sound comes from is n ot water-res i stant (d ri p-pro o f) .
• The water-res i stant (d rip-proof) perfo r mance is des i gned to protect the headphones
if t hey get wet from ra i n, etc. (equiva l ent to I PX21. J IS/ IEC pro t ect ion grade I PX2
means that t he head ph ones a re protec t ed aga i nst wa t er droplets falli ng f rom abo ve
at a 1 5--degree angle . T he headp h on es cannot be used in hot and h um id places,
