The PI-35A and SI-35A are handsome, dual-channel units designed to serve the intercom,
paging, and background music needs of schools, business and institutions. The PI-35A pro-
vides communication with up to 25 loudspeaker-equipped locations and can distribute pro-
gram material from external sources such as microphones, FM/AM tuner, or cassette player.
The SI-35A serves up to 75 rooms or remote locations and provides custom flexibility in a
space-saving design. Furnished with 25 room selector switches. It has space for 75, or for a
CPT-1A cassette player-FM/AM tuner and 50 room switches.
Both models have a built-in 20-watt intercom amplifier and a separate 35-watt program
amplifier. These permit instant communication with any location without interrupting music
distribution to others.
The control panels feature color-coded buttons and guides, with step-by-step instructions,
allowing even first time users to operate the system easily. Emergency announcements to all
speakers are accomplished with a push button and take precedence over all other system
functions. Facilities are also included for all-call distribution of a tone signal (for classroom
changes or telephone ‘night bell”) or telephone paging.
Remote stations may be wall-mounted or ceiling-mounted loudspeakers, or horn-type
speakers in high-noise or outdoor locations. They reply hands-free when called. A call-in
switch can be provided at any remote station where call-initiation capability is desired. When
the control center selects a remote for intercommunication or monitoring, the remote receives
a repeating tone signal. Calls to the control center are announced by tone signal and identified
by light annunciation.
The control centers are enclosed in compact consoles, finished in attractive simulated walnut.
They provide a 25-volt balanced line output and operate from a 120 VAC source. Power
consumption is 100 watts, max. Installation is easily accomplished with crimp-on connectors.
The SBA225 room selector and annuncition panel may be used to add room capacity to the
SI-35A in increments of 25 rooms.
