Evenif you can only operatethetelephone using pulse dialling, you can switchtotone
dialling temporarilyduring a call in order, for example,toaccessan answering machine.

Dialling pause
When the phone is integratedin a privatebranch exchange,it is necessarytodial a spe-
cificnumber(e.g.0 or 9) in orderto obtain thedialling tone foran outsideline. In thecase
ofolder exchanges,it can takesometime untilthedialling tonecanbe heard.Inserta
dialling pause in such cases.
The pause can also be enteredwith the phone numbersin the phone book.

Locating the handset (Paging)

Range
The handset has a range of approx.50 metersindoors and approx.300 metersoutdoors.
When the connectionto the base station is good, the l icon appears in the display.Ifthe
handsetis movedtoofarfromthe base station,thel icon flashesand acousticwarning
signalsare issued.Movenearer to thebasestati on, otherwisethe call will be discon-
nected.
