8 Expanding the Telephone System

standard ensuresthe compatibilityofhandsetsand
basestati ons fromdifferentmanufacturers.This enables AUDIOLINEequipmentand that
fromothermanufacturersto be integratedin one telephone system.
Multiple handsets
Up to4 handsetscan be registered on the base station.
Registering handsets
Before beginning with the registrationprocedurefor a handset,switchthe relevantbase
station toRegistermode.

Completethe registrationprocessforyour handset . Page 35.Use thePINcode cur-
rentlysetfor theregistrationprocess. Page35.
After being registered,the handsetisassignedan internalcall number. This internal call
numberappears in thedisplay.
Toregisterhandsetsfromothermanufacturers,readtheoperatingmanualprovi-
ded withtherespetivehandset.
Deregistering handsets
Ahandsetregisteredonabasestationcanonlybederegisteredbyanother hand-
setregisteredto the samebase station.
Multiple base stations
The handsetscan be simultaneouslyregisteredon up to 4 different base stations.Each
basestation requiresits own telephone line socket.Connectionswith thesameor differ-
entcall numbers can be used.
Callsin progress,however,cannot be transferredfromone base stationto
another.
Increasing the range
Position the base stationsso thatthe ranges ofthei ndividual base stations overlap.Test
therange of your handsetsbecause obstructi ons in buildings restrictthe range.Register
thehandset on all thebase stations.Activatethe Select Base function on the base sta-
tions. Page 35. The handsetautomatically searchesforthe nearestbase stationwith
thebest connection.
Mobilitythrough different installation locations
Registerthehandseton various base stationsat differentlocations.Activate the Select
Base function on thebase stations. Page 35. Regardlessofyour currentlocation,the
handsetautomaticallysearchesfora basestation in range.
