5 Operation Answering Machine
5.1 Recording, changing or deleting the greeting message
For your greeting message, you can either make use of the standard greeting
recorded by a professional radio speaker or you can record your own message
with a length of up to 60 seconds. If you do not record a message of your own,
the standard greeting will be used automatically.
Example of a greeting message: "Hallo, this is 05432/1234. I am sorry but we
are not available to take your call at the moment. However, you can leave a
message if you wish. Please speak after the tone.
Wording of the standard greeting: "Hallo, I am sorry but we are unable to
answer your call personally at the moment. Please leave your message and
telephone number after the tone.
Before recording your greeting, you should write down the text that you want to
record. The length of your own greeting must be at least 3 seconds and must not
exceed 60 seconds. The longer your greeting lasts, the less recording time will be
available for incoming messages. The maximum recording time is ca. 15 minutes.
If your greeting lasts for 18 seconds, for example, then 14 minutes and 42
seconds remain for incoming messages.
Recording your own greeting
Press and hold the
REC
button until you hear a signal tone.
Start your greeting directly after the signal tone. While recording, keep at a
distance of ca. 15 cm from the answering machine so that you can speak easily
into the microphone on the upper side.
Release the
REC
button after you have finished your greeting message.
The greeting will now be repeated automatically. The volume can be adjusted by
repeatedly pressing the two arrow keys
and .
You can play back your greeting at any time by briefly pressing the
REC
button.
