Troubleshooting Guidelines
1.
"CAL"
is
displayed
in
the compass window.
The compass needs to be calibrated. Drive the vehicle in a circle
at
five mph
or
less until the display reads a direction.
You
can also calibrate the compass by
driving your vehicle on your everyday routine. The compass
will
be calibrated
once it has tracked a complete circle.
2.
Inaccurate compass direction
1.
With
the display turned
on,
push the
"0"
button for 9 seconds, until
the
Zone
selection comes
up
(a
number will be displayed
in
the
mirror compass
window)
.
2.
Toggle until correct zone is found
and
release switch.
3.
The display will return
to
the normal compass mode after about 5 seconds
of
no switch activity
4.
If
the vehicle changes zone, repeat steps 1 thru
3.
See
map.
3.
Vehicle's
magnetics may have changed:
recalibrate
compass
1.
Press
and
hold the
"0"
button for more then
12
seconds,
or
until a
"CAL"
appears
in
the display.
2.
Drive the vehicle in a complete circle
at
less than 5 mph.
4.
The temperature
display
is reading significantly low.
Check to see
if
the temperature display has been changed
to
Celsius.
If
there is
a
"OC"
in the display window, follow the steps for temperature operation on the
reverse side
to
change back
to
"OF".
5.
The
visual display
reads
"SC"
The mirror has detected that the temperature sensor has shorted. Check the
temperature probe wire routing for damage.
6. The
visual display
reads
"OC"
The mirror detects that the temperature sensor is open. Check the temperature
probe for damage
and
connection
to
mirror
via
harness.
7. Note
(1)
Installing items such as a ski rack, antenna, or even some body repair work
can cause changes
to
the
vehicle's
magnetic field.
In
these situations, the compass
will
need to be recalibrated
to
the
vehicle's
magnetic field.
(2) The compass may not indicate the correct compass point
in
tunnels or
while driving up or down a steep hill.
(The compass returns to the correct compass point when the
vehicle
moves
to
an
area where the geomagnetism
is
stabilized.)
